Avatar Kyoshi lived to be 230 years old, so that's not really impossible in their world.
User avatar #32 to #28 - rbrim (05/20/2012) [-]
Kyoshi was the oldest avatar to have ever lived. That doesn't mean she's the standard for life spans in their world. The oldest people in the show were shown to be exceptional benders, like Bumi and Kyoshi. Guru Pathik was also very old, but that was probably due to his spiritual nature.

Toph, Sokka and Suki have all passed away, so they lived to be less than 90. It seems more likely that it's his son or grandson, because he looks way to young to be 180 years old.
#35 to #32 - Krathalos (05/20/2012) [-]
No, it doesn't, but it means that it's possible to live that long. That was the point of my message. It's pretty obvious that that isn't the standard for life spans. Aang died at 66.
User avatar #36 to #35 - rbrim (05/20/2012) [-]
Well, Aang only died at 66 because he spent 100 years in the Avatar state which took a toll on his body as he got older.

and what about the statue? did anyone else notice?
#23 - SuperHyperCrazy (05/20/2012) [-]
I swear, I was the only one out of my group of friends to realize that was him

he would have been dead after 70 years its likely his son
#14 - upunkpunk (05/20/2012) [-]
I just saw this right now, mfw
#13 - StewieGGriffin (05/20/2012) [-]
Maybe its still him, and there's something very powerful in those cabbages.
#11 - anonymous (05/20/2012) [-]
I did what you see there.
#10 - theryuumaster (05/20/2012) [-]
how come a old cabbage salesman that made barely any income was able to outlive a group of healthy warriors?
#12 to #10 - anonymous (05/20/2012) [-]
It wasn't him, it was his kid or something, they don't look the same.
User avatar #3 - commanderbunbun (05/20/2012) [-]
he might as well just yelled "FANSERVICE!"
#2 - sircool (05/20/2012) [-]
I think it's the same guy.
User avatar #4 to #2 - almaster (05/20/2012) [-]
If it was the same guy wouldn't he be like katara age wise?
#5 to #4 - sircool (05/20/2012) [-]
that's what I thought. maybe there was something in his cabbages after all.

#8 to #5 - darthblam (05/20/2012) [-]
I'm pretty sure that's his son. Considering how old he already looks back then there is no way he would still be alive at this time.
User avatar #15 to #8 - nyangiraffe (05/20/2012) [-]
Avatar Kyoshi lived to be 230 so it could still be the same guy.
#26 to #15 - anonymous (05/20/2012) [-]
Then again, he was an avatar..
User avatar #16 to #15 - darthblam (05/20/2012) [-]
Wha? When has that ever been said?
User avatar #25 to #16 - thatguythatlaughs (05/20/2012) [-]

Escape From The Spirit World The online comic made by the creators.
User avatar #18 to #17 - darthblam (05/20/2012) [-]
Umm.. I'm positive this story is not considered canon...
User avatar #19 to #18 - nyangiraffe (05/20/2012) [-]
It is. The creators count it so we should.
User avatar #20 to #19 - darthblam (05/20/2012) [-]
How do you know the creators consider it canon...?
User avatar #21 to #20 - nyangiraffe (05/20/2012) [-]
because they wrote the thing. Why would they write a entire comic and then say "oh and this is just something we did why we were bored. It don't count."
User avatar #22 to #21 - darthblam (05/20/2012) [-]
It gets more people into watching their show for 1.. and it seems to have been apart of some sweepstake apparently.

Seriously.. absolutely none of this has been mentioned in the show at all... why make a cheap little comic that, by the way, definitely is not made by the same people that work on the show, and have no mention of its events in the series?
User avatar #9 to #8 - jacencaedus (05/20/2012) [-]
I would like to point out that Bumi was about Aangs age before Aang went into the iceburg, 100 years passed and Bumi was still alive
