Hey, guys. I know this sounds crazy... But what if there are TWO avatars?
Now, hear me out.
We all know Korra is the Avatar, right?
What we also notice, is that she is NOT SPIRITUAL.

Here's were it get's funky. What if the world somehow goofed, and gave the spiritual portion of the avatar to a separate body. In some way, the Earth embodied itself into two different beings.

MEN! Why is everyone claming that theory??

I've seen it in post at least 4 times, everyone claiming as theirs

User avatar #15 to #12 - bronybox (06/14/2012) [-]
Because I thought of it?
Just because I have a theory like somebody else, doesn't mean I took it from them. Multiple people can come to the same conclusion, considering it is the ost simple answer.

Not many are besides the air nomads, that is why anng was so easy into all the avatar spirit world stuff. The further korra delves into air bending the more she will progress

Bronybox? don't bring your hypothetical brony ******** in here..................... jk but seriously pick one or the other..................jk you can watch both i don't care, just so long as you know what you are talking about...................... also she has trouble with the spiritual side just like she has trouble with air bending. However if you watched last weeks episode she was able to meditate without distractions and was able to connect with aangs memories. I think Korra's problem is that she has to many distractions and that since she was not raised like the air nomads (who meditate daily and try to separate themselves from the outside world so that they can better connect with the spiritual side of the world) she is going to have trouble adjusting and learning how to connect with the spirit world. But just like Aang and fire bending she will eventually get it and once she gets that i believe she will get air bending as well.

I've seen the recent episodes, and since airbending is closely connected to being spiritual, and meditating, I thought it made sense. But whatever.

I mean, there was no other way someone can remove bending in the avatar universe. Unless it wasn't actually removing their bending (which I think could be a twist). Don't ask me how, but I bet you Amon is not TRULY taking away people's bending. Either that, or it can be returned.

also i watch MLP, Avatar (watched the original when it came out), Futurama, Family Guy, American Dad, South Park, Boondocks, Naruto. just to name a few...

i also watch non-animated series. Scrubs, Walking Dead, HIMM, Falling Skies, House, Fringe, Grimm, Supernatural, Eureka, Warehouse 13, Sanctuary, Terra Nova, Dr. Who, Torchwood, Pushing Daises, Stargate (all), Chuck, Battlestar Galactica, Caprica, TBBT, My Name is Earl, The River. the ones came in my mind...

and you know what? i like most of them...

and yes you could say i'm lifeless... i'm 23 years old and i don't work and i don't go to school either... and you know why? because i'm ******* rich, so while you work i play games and watch series

No. The writers will choose who Amon turns out to be, and it just cannot, and will not be 'another Avatar'

Explain this picture and why it looks like aang. And who it really is.

Could be well drawn fan art.

But you explain how Korra became the avatar if Aang isn't dead.
They already said that in order for the cycle of the Avatar to continue the previous
one must first die.

There could be a reason as to why he isn't bending. Maybe he can't. Maybe someone has been controlling him. Someone who will be the main bad guy in the later seasons. I formed that idea around watching Naruto and how pain was being controlled by Nagato. The creators are known for twists so I wouldn't doubt this happening some how. The world is open for play. After all, they had someone blood bending without physical movement and without a fullmoon. It's like Tenzin said, "no one but the avatar could take bending away". I wouldn't doubt them finding a way to keep aang alive without his bending and have a new avatar born.

Well it's like other have said that maybe he came in contact with the Lion turtle that gave Aang the same abilities. There are a bunch of theories but really Aang being Amon? I really doubt the creators would do that in the first place. It would ruin 2 shows and doesn't fit Aang at all he only took the bending away from people who deserved it. And also why is the picture in Arabic? if it hasn't even been released in America ( The creators country) why would it be subbed for a different language?
#72 to #53 - CXJokerXD (06/14/2012) [-]
I honestly doubt a lion turtle would give amon that ability like he did aang. And if aang was being controlled, it wouldn't be up to him whose bending he takes away. Also, the show is animated in Korea so I wouldn't doubt it travels around before hitting america.

I like to think the idea of the lion turtle being like the great owl spirit and not so much understanding human affairs but rather being capable of feeling empathy for them.
Aang had hit a spiritual crossroads in his life, someone was using bending to cause pain and misery and destruction and he didn't want to be a killer. He wanted to remain pure.
You might also note that Amon doesn't kill, he equalizes but doesn't destroy. If amon truly felt that benders were destroying the world and the ability was bringing about pain destruction and misery... do you really think it would be to far a stretch for a giant hermit like the lion turtle to see this logic and respond by giving him a hope of removing the boundaries that separate the lower class from the bending elite?
#466 to #463 - CXJokerXD (06/15/2012) [-]
Good theory, you could be right. But Amon wants to take the bending away from the world, and in doing that he is taking away people's culture and causing conflict that disrupts the peace causing the avatar to step in. Although the motive sounds nice, he is harming everyone who can bend including those who haven't used it to oppress people. Which kind of makes me think it could be aang, because who else to deal with the avatar than the previous avatar.
#470 to #466 - anon (06/15/2012) [-]
I don't think the lion turtle really cares to much for human culture at this point seeing as how long its lived it's probably seen cultures come and go like crazy. I also don't think its prime objective is keeping peace over doing what it believes is overall good for the world. ( I mean technically lieing down and letting the fire lord rule the world would have been a better choice for keeping the peace than fighting a war but it totally understood that fighting **** .
I'm not TO fond of the aang theory myself although I can imagine this chain of events leading up to it being him (I mostly dislike it because Aang has been trying to guide Korra through visions so far, kind of like Roku did in Early avatar)
Everytime he uses energy bending, he risks having his own spirit bent by the person he's bending. (like almost happened against Ozai) As he keeps running into powerful evil bender upon powerful evil bender his spirit gets broken a bit more each time until finally someone breaks it entirely, severing his ties with the avatar state, which in turn would remove his bending, then leaving him a hollow husk of his former self.
<---- Pic related, the great lion turtle is so big that people and their problems are miniscule to him, if there is a great god in the avatar universe it's that monster.
