I love this post and I love the Legend of Korra. Though, I never really minded Mako getting the father's scarf because I always thought of it as a way of passing down responsibility. Mako had to become a father figure for Bolin because he was older and took care of Bolin often. I would love to see them confront their parent's murderers and to see some redemption from Kai having him work together with Mako. Keep the confessions up as more episodes come along.

well the whole Korra not learning from Book 1 was because of the rush for Book 2 after Nick was like "make more season nao". now that they got book 2 out of the way and had time to prepare and have more focus i believe Book 3 will be really better. So far the armless waterbender Ming Hua is my favorite of the four evil benders. If any of you have seen the leaked episodes the fighting scenes to come later are done VERY well

Man, **** Kai. What a little **** . I hope that getting sent into a slave army will fix his **** attitude.

Also, I doubt that Mako will get back with Korra, and as much as I'd like Bolin to hook up with Korra again, I doubt that'll happen either.

As for the villains, I don't get why what's-his-name Air bender suddenly wants to off Korra, though I think they'll explain why somewhere along the middle of the season. And, I think there might be a twist involving that main villain, and I'm predicting that he's the one who killed Mako and Bolin's parents. Just a hunch.

I think it's a little disappointing that the main villains in Book 3 are genuinely evil, instead of more realistically acting radically upon a conflicting view like Amon and Unalaq. Oh well, I guess that role will be better suited for those bandits in Ba Sing Se. I hope they ship Bolin and Eska further

Well, they might have a legit reason for it. I doubt it, but I have hope. The armless waterbender and the lava-bender guy seem really ******* cool.
User avatar #30 to #19 - jokerjack (07/06/2014) [-]
I disagree. Unalaq was the generic evil to be evil bad guy. Amon was awesome up until the very end as the extremist militaristic anti-bending front. Seriously, non-benders are second rate humans in the Avatar world.

But I have hope for our 4 terrorists (as I view them as). They did something 11? years ago anti-avatar related and are anti-White lotus. I think the producers can possibly come up with a gray area reason for that. With the disbalance of power in the avatar world, they could again be fighting for those without those connections. Seems our earth queen is already crushing the smallfolk under her tax thumb so that she can fuel pet projects and bring more wealth back to the upper upper class
User avatar #31 to #30 - PVTDickStryker ONLINE (07/06/2014) [-]
Unoloq wasn't THAT genericly evil, afterall, he simply wanted to spearhead what Korra ended up doing anyways.
User avatar #23 to #19 - GShepard (07/02/2014) [-]
we are only 3 episodes in im sure we will get more of their backgrounds later, like what they could have been White Lotus before but were betrayed. just a thought

I hate the love triangles, I feel they are over-used and they don't add anything interesting to the story expect cliché moments, I hope some of the interesting stuff u mentioned happens but LOK is pretty easy to predict and bad at surprising... just IMO cool post well made and kinda interesting thumbed Book 2 was exception doe... ***********

how did korra break the avatar cycle?
#29 to #26 - Rascal (07/03/2014) [-]
spoiler alert for the ending of book 2
Revealed that Raava, a spirit, is embodied in the avatar giving the current avatar the ability to bend all 4 elements, and possibly spirit bend(unsure if only avatar can do this, highly likely). Vaatu, Raava's evil counterpart, was released by and embodied Korra's uncle, making an evil avatar. The evil avatar separated Korra from Raava, thus breaking the avatar cycle. Korra can still go into the avatar state, but since she's the first new avatar of the current cycle, it doesn't actually do anything.
tl;dr Korra's uncle gets possessed by a spirit and separates Raava, the spirit who gives the avatar all of his/her powers from korra.

Finally an Avatar post that's positive about Mako
User avatar #16 - angelious (07/01/2014) [-]
i think korra is a nice avatar :/

sure she ***** things up,but then again her enemies have been pretty op compared to the aangs(spirit satan and all that).and she does have some character development there.

+ she lives in a harder time and has to deal with the press and other bull **** that wasnt around during the previous avas
User avatar #25 to #16 - AnimalChupicabra (07/02/2014) [-]
See, here's my problem with that. You can't just put all of her personal faults and failings onto the fact that "her opponents are stronger than Aangs", because, to be honest, besides Unalaq is Dark Avatar mode, there really hasn't been an enemy that completely outclasses her. In TLA, Aang had to work in a group to win, and even then, he didn't win every fight. He had the likes of Azula, who is considerably one of the most powerful firebenders of all time, and has yet to be touched in Korra in terms of sheer power and skill. While you have a small point about Korra having to deal with the press, Aang also had to deal with a hatred of having been gone for over 100 years that had been boiling over his head. In that sense, Korra "having low approval" in Capital City doesn't seem like that big a deal when the world most powerful nation wants you dead and everyone else pretty much despises you.

One thing I never liked about Korra is she kept getting caught up on Mako and their realtionship. Seriously, no matter what the situation was she constantly kept bringing up her relationship with Mako and it felt completely forced and out of place.

Now, for my final point, when you say that her ******* things up is justified, I really don't understand. She blatantly followed someone who she didn't completely understand into a world and idea that she didn't understand only to make a decision on something she didn't understand, which lead to the collapse of Capital City's already instable order as well as destroy her connection to the avatar cycle?! I don't care how "overpowered" any of her enemies are. She made the decision to open the portal before it was clear to her that Unalaq was even a real enemy.

TLR
Aang is better. Korra is meh. Azula op. Unalaq 1 hit wonder. I mean, seriously, his entire plan gets defeated by something that he knew Korra could do, in fact he TAUGHT HER how to do? "OP supah genius"

well unalag never gave him any reason to suspect him. other than being black

and its not like that masked guy whose name i already forgot was a ****** water bender(hell i could claim he was one of the strongest water benders there is)

and then there is the fact that what aang faced really doesnt match up to what modern press can do to a person. because aang was fighting a tyrannic overlord he got a lot more help than hatred compared to korra who has to actually involve herself in politics

I blame the writers apparent ******* insane nerf of the avatar state. In season 2 that **** was hella except for when Wan used it. For other Avatars, they could literally ******* break apart continents (Kyoshi) but Korra gets her ass kicked by spirits.

well i think thats because the spirits are a tad stronger than what we saw in the first season. thou you do have a point

Did show explained how she became a giant soul kinda thing at the end of Book 2? How did Jinora become a Deus Ex machina at the last second? Am I missing something here?

Also it was obvious book 3 was gonna be about the problems they're havin since the world is now combined with spirit world thanks to Korra.I think we're gonna see more people who can bend other elements other than air now or maybe even some multibenders. New bad guys team seem kinda rushed. Though when you think about it if that old man who was a nonbender at first turns out to be the ************ Ozai from Atla things can change really quick so it's kinda too early to say something about them.

Oh and one last thing. You can bet your ass that Zuko will finally reunites with his uncle after a long time since the worlds collided
#21 to #15 - Rascal (07/02/2014) [-]
dude, it's amazing Katara's alive, but she would've been half of Ozai's age during ATLA, if he's somehow alive that would be ridiculous. I really don't think it's him.

User avatar #12 - weejer (07/01/2014) [-]
thank god im not the only one who thinks korra is the worst avatar. first, she lost her bending. except for air cause she can't be a total **** up. then she literally lost the light spirit, like gone. how the hell do you let the dark spirit create its own avatar. she literally sucks at being the avatar.
User avatar #14 to #12 - mrnpc (07/01/2014) [-]
In all fairness it only had access to one element, but that had nothing to do with her so much as it had to do with how bending works

How Lin got her scars in in episode 5 or 6. I've looked at them in Spanish. I don't speak Spanish, but it was very clear. SPOILERS! Her sister did something bad, Lin was chasing her, since she is a cop and all She caught her with the wires she uses, which were then cut off by her sister and hit her in the face
#10 - apoopchicken ONLINE (07/01/2014) [-]
Didn't read it but thank you for pointing out the spoilers first. THIS IS WHAT IT SHOULD BE LIKE!
#8 - Rascal (07/01/2014) [-]
I would guess that Lin got her scars from the wires that metal bender cops use, they use two thin wires to latch onto things, it's possible that she accidentally hit herself with them, probably early on when she was learning to use them. That's what I've always assumed.
