Japan's war crimes against Chinese civilians alone warrants their destruction.
Also, we asked them to surrender, telling them that we'd annihilate their cites, each time before the nukes.

still never needed to nuke the cities just a outlying abandoned island would have got the message across but the president wanted to see what it do to living target
it is nothing short of a war crime

It was very necessary, if America invaded over 1,000,000 troops would of died, the Japanese were persistent. They didn't even surrender after the first bomb.

so you are saying that nuking cities and killing civilians is an appropriate military tactic?
i can guarantee that if someone nuked an american city there would be hell to pay.

to be fair. What the Japanese did to Chinese civilians and POV's is more than enough to abandon any kind of sympathy for them. What i find hysterical is that only anti-Americans bring this up. The Japanese are beyond it, they moved on

Dude if we invaded more civilians would have died especially because we woulda been forced to take Tokyo

See in war you have to be willing to do what the enemy would do to you. Japan would kill our civilians if they had the chance. Ask the Chinese

Actually the team that went to Hiroshima to confirm it had been nuked was delayed because the rail network was bombed to hell. The Japanese Government hadn't had the chance to find out what happened before the second bomb. Also the US military wanted to compare the Plutonium bomb with the Uranium bomb.

Japan knew what happened before the second bomb.

They knew a city wasn't there anymore but they didn't know if it was from a nuclear blast or a conventional fire storm. A well used tactic to destroy vast urban areas made from wood.

yes because the things the military does totally warrants the bombing of cities resulting in hundreds of thousands of deaths

I would like to point out that more Japanese civilians would have died in the conventional invasion of japan. Also in full scale war the line legitimate targets and civilians becomes blurred

If you think about it, one brought a nation into one of the most bloody battles in written history, the other ended a straggling leg of said war early. But I'm on fj using logic, **** me right?
