what if ******* Yakone is Amon?

Hed be a 90 year old ******* man
User avatar #441 to #434 - silvermoonelf (06/04/2012) [-]
Well, in the flashbacks he looked like he was in his late 40s or early 50s. This was 47 years ago, which means that he would be at the youngest 87, but more likely in his mid-90s or dead. For such an elderly man to be able to move like Amon does... That's pretty much impossible. Especially considering the poor health care that they have. The best health care is probably in Republic City, which he is banished from.
#499 to #441 - reptarrawr (06/04/2012) [-]
i am close to 90 and i can move like this Amon you speak of
User avatar #516 to #499 - silvermoonelf (06/04/2012) [-]
Iroh is not 90. He's like, 50. He looked to be 45 or so when his son died, his son was around Zuko's age, and Zuko was 10 at the time. That means it was 7 year later, making him 52ish.
#520 to #516 - reptarrawr (06/04/2012) [-]
still better then Amon...... (speedwise)
User avatar #521 to #520 - silvermoonelf (06/04/2012) [-]
Iroh is faster than Amon? Iroh is a great forebender, but he can't dodge and grab like Amon can. Iroh is hefty and slower than Amon. Amon would kick Iroh's butt. Iroh has yet to master the new techniques that he has created, Amon has captured, and taken the bending from the best bending athletes who have perfected many styles of bending.
#524 to #521 - reptarrawr (06/04/2012) [-]
ughm bitch, Iroh is friends with a ******* dragon. he could just call them up and then theyd call up their Dragon ball friends and **** up Amon..... Iroh beats Amon in every way shape and form and you know what he'll do after he rapes Amon? He'll give him tea and speak to him about his fighter stances, where's your hero now?
User avatar #532 to #524 - silvermoonelf (06/04/2012) [-]
Well, Iroh is dead when Amon is up and about, now isn't he? And those dragons don't give a **** about Iroh. How would he even call them? They would have to be fighting in the sun warriors tribe land, which I really doubt they'd allow. Those dragons would be pissed the **** off if Iroh barged into their homeland, destroyed ancient ruins and priceless artifacts, just so Iroh could have the satisfaction of beating Amon WITH ******* HELP. Times change, Amon and his army is superior to an old man and his two dragons. Amon is stealthy and has eyes and ears everywhere. The world is his playground. Iroh is old and experienced, but him against Amon... He wouldn't stand a chance.
#539 to #532 - reptarrawr (06/04/2012) [-]
if Amon doesnt take out the bending with in iroh then he'd be screwed. Plus Iroh was supposed to be the heir to the fire nation im pretty sure that he can just order ughm idk about 30,000 soldiers to fight Amon perhaps the whole ******* nation (not including enslaved nations) Iroh is a man of internal peace and deep sorrow (son) which is exactly what Dr. Xavier from x-men beleived to give us strength. Amon is weakling who likes to uinderpower people **************** . Iroh powers us with intermost enlightenment.
#549 to #539 - silvermoonelf (06/04/2012) [-]
Okay. Since you are coming off as retarded and letting your personal feelings for a character interfere with your viewpoint of their strengths, I drew you a picture. As you can see, Amon is sneaking up on Iroh with his shocky-hand divice. He shocks and paralyzes Iroh. He can now take Iroh's bending.
User avatar #576 to #565 - silvermoonelf (06/04/2012) [-]
Iroh couldn't kick Amon's ass.
Technically has an army - wouldn't use it. Iroh wants to be done with war, he wants to be alone, enjoy peace, and have some tea. All the pictures of him you're using are from when his hand was forced in prison to get himself in shape so he could get out. Also, though Iroh is an ex-general, that's just it. EX general. He doesn't have any more military power, and he doesn't want it either. And, do you really think he would sacrifice so many of his peoples' bending for a petty fight? You obviously don't know the character.

Has no honor
Would be able to predict moves
Has an army he is willing to risk themselves, because they have nothing left to use. Amon is stealthy and strategic. If he can predict an entire city's movements, I think he's got a predictable old man. Amon would think nothing of sneaking behind Iroh and shocking him, then taking his bending. I don't think he'd care all that much if his men killed Iroh while he was defenseless either.

cant they live to like 230ish or is that just the avatar?
User avatar #451 to #449 - silvermoonelf (06/04/2012) [-]
That's their spirit. I'm guessing you're referring to Kyoshi, who is very much dead. The avatar can communicate with past selves, but they don't have extended life. (Roku died in his 80s, and Aang died at 66)
#461 to #451 - grimsho (06/04/2012) [-]
Avatar Kyoshi actually did live until she was 230 years old before dying and passing on the position of the avatar to baby Roku. Whether or not she could perform any feats of agility, or even walk, at this age is unclear. Either way, it's highly unlikely that anyone else in the series will live nearly that long, because Kyoshi probably pulled some spirit world hax to extend her life, and Bumi who was 110-ish years old in the original series was just THAT much of a badass.
User avatar #466 to #461 - silvermoonelf (06/04/2012) [-]
They really should have looked more into that. Roku died in his 80s, and appeared in the same body as he did when he died. Kyoshi looked like she was 38ish.
User avatar #468 to #466 - grimsho (06/04/2012) [-]
When it shows her in flashbacks during the first series, it doesn't say that she was even half her maximum age, so she could have well been 38ish at that point, rather than in her 200s.
User avatar #474 to #468 - silvermoonelf (06/04/2012) [-]
I know, but what I'm saying is that Roku was in an old man body because he died as an old man. Typically, you'd think he would choose a younger body because of the advantages. Which leads me to believe that they appear in the same body as they died in. Maybe Kyoshi was a VAMPIRE (plot twist!) Lol. But anyway, they really should have developed that more, eh?
User avatar #480 to #474 - grimsho (06/04/2012) [-]
Alright, point proven. And yeah, they should have gone into more detail about how characters lived past 100 years old in the first place, let alone being able to move and fight at the level of Bumi and Kyoshi. In the time period of our world that the first season of Avatar was based upon, nobody lived to 100, and in LoK, the industrial revolution, it was extremely rare for someone to live that long.
#444 to #441 - crafty (06/04/2012) [-]
Yes it would impossible for someone that age to move that quickly.
User avatar #446 to #444 - silvermoonelf (06/04/2012) [-]
Bomi was a king, and had the best resources in his kingdom to keep himself up and about. This man is a criminal, now non bender, who has a very negative image, as I would imagine that this news was reported to more than just Republic City. Blood bending itself is a pretty big deal.

#463 to #446 - crafty (06/04/2012) [-]
Bumi wasn't always the king and nothing about his lineage hinted at him becoming king otherwise i think aang would've figured out who bumi was from the start. And even with that you're talking about a time period of atleast 100 years between where Bumi became king of Omashu and where Yakone would supposedly be on trial. In that time metal bending, lightning generation and blood bending are no longer as uncommon. I think any advantages Bumi would've had would've been absorbed in the "future".
User avatar #470 to #463 - silvermoonelf (06/04/2012) [-]
But lighting bending and metal bending can be done no matter what the circumstances. Blood bending can only be done once a month by only the most elite of water benders. Making it more uncommon. It's also more of a darker art. Katara cried after using it because it was a vile art. Metal and Lightning bending are not taking control of somebody, and forcing them to inflict harm on themselves or others.

And you got me with Bumi.

Dont know if you saw the most recent episode, but bloodbending can happen any time now.. To a few.
User avatar #486 to #485 - silvermoonelf (06/04/2012) [-]
Alright, I have yet to see that episode, but I don't mind spoilers.

In any case, it's still more of a taboo art, especially with the equalists rising up. If I was one of them, and got not only the four elements to worry about, but also the effects of blood bending... I'd be pretty pissed off.
User avatar #584 to #486 - coolfool (06/04/2012) [-]
Blood bending is very effective against chee blockers when you think about it.

Control them before they get close.
Just watch the newest episode!

hold there a minute, suppose yakone has his son bloodbend him into moderate physical youth?
User avatar #452 to #450 - silvermoonelf (06/04/2012) [-]
Blood bending moves the blood through the body, it can't re-create cells and make bones and such stronger and healthier.
User avatar #456 to #452 - batassassin (06/04/2012) [-]
if i'm not mistaken increased bloodflow to certain parts of the brain can improve youthfulness to those respective parts of the body.
User avatar #462 to #456 - silvermoonelf (06/04/2012) [-]
I'm not an expert on the subject. But that's not very likely either. Blood bending doesn't put bits of blood here and there, the rushes huge amounts of it to control the body. It would take somebody with at least a full life time of experience, who focused solely on blood bending to learn how to do that without actually seeing into the person's brain. Hell, I don't even think it'd be possible. One slip up, and he could have made his dad a vegetable. That, and there's never been any shown understanding of how the brain and body works. So, even if somebody could master blood bending to such an extreme, they wouldn't have a clue where to put the blood.
User avatar #472 to #462 - batassassin (06/04/2012) [-]
if tarlokk and his father's triad could bloodbend without the influence of the full moon, what do you suppose is preventing them from using it to influence youthfulness in the brain?
User avatar #477 to #472 - silvermoonelf (06/04/2012) [-]
The fact that there's no information on the brain. It's not just like they put some blood in this part of the brain, it's brain surgery. They can't even see what they're doing in there. They have no knowledge of what part of the brain is what, so the chances of this being successful is less than a percent.
User avatar #483 to #477 - batassassin (06/04/2012) [-]
i'm just speculating, friend. x3 throwing science at the wall and seeing what sticks. you're probably right, honestly, but i'm just throwing ideas out there.
