The most German beers taste like they're watered down. Whereas in Belgium only Crystal and a few others taste watered down.

well, i have to be honest and say that I've never tried belgium beer, so I can't quite compare. But our beer really doesn't taste watered down, i mean, i've had some locally brewed Doppelbock beer just yesterday which was at 7,5%o.
But for curiosity, give me an example of a decent belgium beer.

Then you should definitely try a Trappist beer, brewed by monks! Achel, Chimay, Orval, Rochefort, Westmalle or the "best beer in the world" Westvleteren.

Any German beers I should try?

You shouldn't believe he's had any experience with German beer before. Belgians just get really defensive when it comes to their beer.

On the other hand, 7.5% isn't exactly high. The tripels here vary from 7.5 to 10%, others get over 11%

I'm dutch, most people don't speak highly of Belgians in our country. But if there's one thing they can do right, It's brewing beer for sure. Cheers!

I'm from Westmalle, the brewery is this awesome giant old building in a forest in the middle of the fields and I ride my bike past it nearly every day. The beer is good stuff, but you can smell the brewing process really hard and it smells.. weird. Like someone is cooking up a meal containing sausage or something
