I took my son and daughter to this new "Perot Museum of Nature and Science" and as
soon as we started outpour I wished we didn' t- It was full of propaganda.
All overhue place were promotions for the Big Bang, evolution. etc. It mentioned
creationists" by name in a negative way right from the start. It taught that birds...
evolved from Dinosaurs because they have similar bones, and that everything somehow
magically evolved over billions from a single molecule. Instead of, "In the
beginning God" it was "In the beginning a single molecule." I can' t believe rational
people buy this stuff. It offered zero proof for any of its wild claims. It was a whole
bunch of fairytale propaganda apparently funded by God haters. It even had a picture
on the wall of Charles Darwin and Richard I was very disappointed. I also
took my family to the Creation Science Museum in Kentucky and was glad I did. We
need more Museums like that!

"it offered zero proof for any of its wild claims"
This woman needs to take a long hard look at herself.

And you assume this person is a woman because...

because ive been on this site too long and every time i see a post that shows someone complaining about evolution, its usually female(as seen by avatars, name, use of words, etc.)

so im just making a general assumption.

that being said, my point still stands that he or she is a hypocrite. regardless of gender.
User avatar #5 to #4 - mrhazzy (01/15/2013) [-]
Agreed, why go to a place of fact and call it fiction, kind of anti-productive,
User avatar #6 to #5 - remsaman (01/15/2013) [-]
creationists. who understands them.

I mean, evolution hasn't been proved, a good theory though. I swear people are just gonna go by what they believe in regardless of what it is, science or religion. Stop acting better than the others, neither of your sides got proof of **** . One side theory's and the other side hears whispers from the sky. **** you all.
User avatar #8 to #7 - remsaman (01/15/2013) [-]
theres more evidence for evolution then creationism.
dont believe me? look it up.
#20 to #8 - anon (01/15/2013) [-]
creationism -the belief that a nomad wise man knew how the world came to be
Evolution - the belief that we can see patterns between all living organisms and see heridetiary traits passed from one generation to another trough genetics
- that evolution must be complete bollocks

I've alays been baffled by one thing though - why don't creationsists rage on the existence of genetics? isn't that also contradictory to the bible?
User avatar #21 to #20 - remsaman (01/15/2013) [-]
because its something they cant deny, because its not a theory.
if it has 'theory' in the name, someones not going to believe it and try to enforce their non-belief.

the bible is full of contradictions. but when people point these out, lots of christians just say 'it was meant as a metaphor'. or some other silly excuse.

anons acting crazy. How about god created the universe, we evolved. A point and appear thing seems a bit strange
#10 to #8 - anon (01/15/2013) [-]
First and foremost. there is a 2000 character limit so you didn't need to post twice. Second, even if you did go back in time how on earth are you gonna measure evolution? Watching the generations of cave men evolving? Third, yes I've been through high school, evidence isn't evidence as it is more speculation aka a ******* theory. Us as humans who have only been on this planet for a mere spec of the history of the universe and you're gonna go and say this is the answer and we're right, we just don't have time travel to prove it. Get bent faggot.
User avatar #9 to #7 - remsaman (01/15/2013) [-]
its still a 'theory' because its impossible to go back in time to prove it.

It's not a "theory", it's a "scientific theory".

A theory is basically just a synynom for a hypothesis or idea, whilst a scientific theory is an idea which has been repeatedly tested and anaylzed by many scientists in relating fields. Until a great amount of evidence has been compiled for it, it remains a theory of a scientist, and after many scientists of relating fields confirm there findings, it becomes a scientific theory.

Scientific theorys never become or "get upgraded" to facts, they continue to be called scientific theorys, and facts are explained by scientific theorys.
Ex:
fact ------->scientific theory
Life evolved through natural selection--->Theory of Evolution by Natural Selection

It’s not about acting better than others, it’s about how ignorant some people choose to be, weather they believe in something or not. And that is what the post is about.

have you heard of MRSA? or ever wondered why the flu shot every year treats a different strain? or why our use of antibacterial handwash is creating stronger bacteria? evolution at work.

why do you assume "american" and why can't you say "people" instead of just associating ignorance with Americans.
#30 to #28 - disiple (01/15/2013) [-]
Because the museum is located in Downtown Dallas, I just assumed he's american.
But you're right, sorry.
What do you call people, who live in the bible-belt? Maybe we can use that, as a name for those kind of people.
#40 - anon (01/29/2013) [-]
Creationism is incredibly stupid, and I believe in divinely inspired evolution. If you look at it from a purely scientific standpoint, God is the catalyst that set off the Big Bang. It's only logical that something like a creation would adapt and survive on its own according to its environment. God basically just set it off, leaned back in his lawn chair sippin on a margarita listening to some Jimmy Buffett B-)

YES! FINALLY! SOMEONE SEES IT! That's always made more sense to me than anything else! I mean, there's also the whole possibility he made us on purpose instead of us evolving by chance, but that's something we can talk about another time. The point is, God's our father, and, in a sense, Science is our mother. Somehow, that just makes them both awesome. Or I'm just a guy with an open mind, which I think is still pretty cool.
Have a gif, good sir!

Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic.
Arthur C. Clarke, "Profiles of The Future", 1961 (Clarke's third law)
User avatar #17 to #15 - thyregod (01/15/2013) [-]
So what are you trying to prove? Can you not see and touch "advanced technology"? Or are you trying to compare to completely different subjects? - I believe in God and therefor, advanced technology is magic, which is basically what you are saying in regards to this post. I don’t get it?
#19 to #17 - anon (01/15/2013) [-]
You can't see or touch mathematics either still you seem to be using it every day. while you philosophically could say that math is just a description of what happens and only comes arbitrarily close to describe something. it is close enough and as such used to describe and improve the world. as is evolution. you can't see or touch it. however it describes the world in a much better way than saying "god made it that way". as we can now actually use this theory (ofcourse it is a theory - much like the theory of gravity) to improve human living conditions. we can use the framework provided to better understand for example genetic diseases. using the bible theory would give us the same approach as we did during the medieval age. Saying the bible is wrong on one account doesn't disprove the existence of a god. just that the men who wrote the scriptures had no idea about how everything came to be. Life is a mystery of its own - science can't explain our sentience. Don't be the medieval narrowminded inquisitor. your scripture isn't timeless, an it is not 100% correct as it is written by men. men make misstakes
User avatar #22 to #19 - thyregod (01/15/2013) [-]
To have something that you believe in, is always a good thing, so life isn’t just about "What you see, is what you get". But people choose to be close-minded and ignorant, like the person in this post. We can’t be sure what is truth or not, but denying everything right away and saying people that disprove of creationism, are god haters is irrational, just because some people have a different theory, "Don't be the medieval narrowminded inquisitor" well by your own logic I ask you shouldnt be that yourself. And in my opinion, yes we can see mathematics and we can solve it, one thing plus another thing gives to things, that’s a fact
