But are these necessarily 'godless' morals? Many of them, such as 1 and 2, are similar to the ten commandments. I think it would be possible to adhere to a religious lifestyle and still recognize these rules. Just don't be one of those Westboro nuts.

le reddit's 10 commandments for banna bois

1. Lieing is virtue so long as you are doing so in a manner to profit progressive ideology (for example you can twist exerpts in the bible to make it mean anything u want!!)

2. Do not lie to people unless you don't like them in which case do whatever feels good

3. If some old white bigot is talking jeebus go ahed and pop that cracker skull inward

4. you are entitled to everything

5. If you are ever in a situation in which you have power over people, use that power to try and apply your abstract political philosophies into their lives

6. Always try to convert people to your cause and if they don't share your notions dismiss them as "racist" or "homophobe" or whatever works for said sitution and you always win!!!

7. Always think of yourself as a winner because we are all winners and just as equal as everyone else!!!

8. Do whatever feels good

9. Be in a constant state of euphoria and don't believe in no phone deity

10. Debate christurds (Those who believ le flying spaggeti monstar xD) and destroy them by pointing out that they believe in a ghost that doesnt exist

I like these. I really do. But knowing the internet when they show you something this good it's likely to be some form of catch where there is something really off about the person saying it.

This should go for everyone, not just atheists, I do agree that this is better than the Christian Ten Commandments, and even the bible for most parts because this one is more broad.

what does scrutinize mean?
User avatar #16 to #11 - reigndrac (05/06/2013) [-]
To closely examine something. He's saying before you go out of your way to do something to hurt someone, be sure and examine the reasons you're doing it and make sure it's the right thing to do.

How most atheist posts go. "With the help of google and reddit I found more reasons to hate religion and not just simply be without God. Here's some guy I don't really know that much about other than he's an atheist. Here's his face and some things he said."

Well, here's the thing
It's a basic truth of the human condition, that everybody lies. The only variable is about what.

"Be just"

This is where it kind of falls apart for me. Where is the concept of just derived from?
If it is because someone else said so, then it is just the same as religious morals that this seems to be the contrast to.
If it is derived from an absolute morality, then this set of alternate morals is void.
One argument would be that justness could come from a biological, evolutionary point, but unprovoked rape, murder, assault and theft happens all the time in the natural world, so I don't think that's a sound point of reason either.

The internet seems to define just as, "Behaving according to what is morally right".
At first, that seems like an alright definition, but this is a list of things morality for some people would be based off. Defining just via morality and defining morality via justness doesn't mean anything, and is just a bit of circular reasoning.

Oh well, there's my two cents.
This post needs more Queen...
