I don't understand Funnyjunk. This gif used to get massive thumbs, then people started complaining about it being used so much, and it would get thumbed down, and people complaining got thumbs up.

Is it going ass backwards now?

I have no idea. I always use it but I figured it would be most appropriate here since he's Robert Downey Jr

Implying the reaction to one situation means I'd react the same way to all others.
Didn't say I was upset, you're the one who got pissed because you don't like the gif.

Did I say it was because of the swearing? The register in your language and the way you used capital letters already shows that it at least annoyed you, otherwise you wouldn't have bothered commenting to express how annoyed you were by it and you wouldn't have bothered continuing this argument. (Before you turn that against me and say I wouldn't have continued the argument, I'm simply replying to something you started and getting quite a laugh out of it.)
Also, because I want to. Now chill, I got better things to do now so run along.

They're not really gods... they said in the movie Thor that they are just unbelievably advanced, and when they went to Earth, the primite men at the point called them gods...
#147 - antiherojoshua ONLINE (06/17/2012) [-]
Consider the following.
> The Hulk is a creation or by product of science
> The Hulk is clearly seen kicking the **** out of Loki and Thor
> Loki and Thor are considered "Gods"
> So we are therefore forced to assume that either that science is greater than any god
> Or alternatively that Bruce Banner created the Hulk and is therefor God himself

So I think the point I'm trying to make here is we now must start a church dedicated to our one true savior Bruce Banner.

I don't know, when Thor took his hammer and utterly destroyed Hulk's jaw, I'd say he won that.

to be more correct.. demi gods
to be even more correct, aliens

they're only gods in our universe not in the marvel usnivers
#209 - rjgnal ONLINE (06/17/2012) [-]
they are looked upon as gods, they are not really gods. if hulk appeared to humanity hundreds of years ago, he wouldve been seen as a god too.

they are not look upon as gods, they are actually demi gods, which still makes them gods

No. Aliens.
User avatar #228 to #220 - ogrecaveman (06/17/2012) [-]
which i dont get, cause a demi-god is half god half human and thor is all god, and loki is all giant
#284 to #228 - Rascal (06/17/2012) [-]
perhaps that is because they wield near limitless power but have no other god-like traits (like Hercules) so the term demi-god is the most appropriate description?
#226 to #220 - Rascal (06/17/2012) [-]
They are "demi-gods" of beings that are_ looked upon_ as gods.
User avatar #408 to #226 - kradrick (06/17/2012) [-]
is norse mythology thor is a full on god but in marvel universe he is described as a demi god, this may be due to the fact that calling him a god could might have offended a segment of the films religious audience, but he is indeed a hammer wielding god, thunder and lightning and everything, with the exception of the film calling him a demi god like i said.

but in the movie, they weren't gods...ancient people just thought they were but they were really just aliens...

technically they're demi-god's, and it turns out there more or less another species in the galaxy, like aliens.

Technically not Gods. Just more powerful beings from a separate realm, that humans worshiped AS gods. If anything, meeting these 2 would disprove any theistic theories.

Loki and Thor aren't Gods. They're Asgardians.
User avatar #326 to #316 - ImaFirinMahLazar (06/17/2012) [-]
Yup, and even then if you compared them to earthly folklore they would only be demi-gods.
#300 - akkere ONLINE (06/17/2012) [-]
Well, Thor and Loki are actually pretty much just really, really powerful space aliens that were considered to be gods at one point by people waaay back then. So Captain America wouldn't be wrong to believe in what he believes in, just like how Stark can reaffirm his point as an atheist.

As for Hulk, well, I don't know about beating up Thor, but let's face it;

You'd beat the piss out of Loki too.

User avatar #194 - Ryukenblaze (06/17/2012) [-]
....In Thor they stated quite plainly that "Primitive cultures such as the vikings, might have even worshiped them as gods."

So the theory that the avengers is working off of is that the Asgardians aren't gods, but are so powerful in comparison to normal humans that they seem like gods
