Wouldn't it make more sense for a modern assassin to atlreast have a gun? Prefferably a sniper - makes things a lot easier.

Real modern assassins use a silenced .22. They kill by doing a double-tap behind the ear.

If you are withing 10m of the enemy and the enemy has their weapon holstered then a knife kills faster for the average gun user and you can travel the 10m and stab them before they can get their gun out and fire.

yes but there is always the chance of error a rifle has at long range. what if the guy ducks or something gets in the way? a knife would be much easier to hide and use since everyone is worried about the guns they wouldnt suspect the knife

You would think. Even if it just covered up to the nose. Then had the eyes undisturbed as an assassin would never trust a machine to see for them. Also a full mask would restrict sight.
