my big ******* with this game was the fact you were a Haudenosaunee, kid fighting for the american settlers, when historically the american settlers killed raped and butchered the Haudenosaunee since, ever and in the war for independence, the natives sided with the british.

having said that i know it's obviously not historically accurate, but in all the previous games they got all the ******* wars and conflicts right, what made them overlook this ****? and why?

rant done.

his tribe did side with the british, when the Americans burned his tribe to the ground to make room for more settlements he left the tribe and blamed it on the templars. he made it clear many times he didn't care about the american revolution he was just there to kill templars

Well his tribe actually did side with the British.

His village also got burned down by the Patriots. When you first see his village getting burned down that was Washington.

He only fought for the Patriots since he thought that would help him kill the templars.

I really wish that I could sit with the story writers, and just seriously, one-to-whatever, ask them what they were thinking. I'm completely serious. Not because I'm mad, not because how much it sucked, I just really want to know. There are bad games in the world. There are good games in the world. But never in my life have I seen such a confusing mix of the two. We start out controlling Haythem, a well crafted character with a very round personality, but that soon changes to Connor, a stubborn bland character whose personality has little to do with the world around him and the story. The same people that crafted Ezio's beautiful metamorphosis from an amateur merely out for bloodthirsty revenge to a professional assassin devoted to a cause bigger to himself, somehow managed to go and **** on everything that meant with Connor, who was literally only concerned with killing one man for pure revenge, and managed to stay that way throughout the game, never learning any lesson, never becoming something bigger than his hate. And last but not least, all the development of Desmond and even his father goes to **** when Desmond, for some reason completely beside me, decides to go against everything his creed ever meant, and not only launch a retarded head-on assault that should not have made it past the first room where the hundreds of armed men noticed him and his stupidity, but even decided in the end that people living on their knees was better than dying on their feet, which is LITERALLY THE EXACT OPPOSITE OF WHAT ASSASSINS STAND FOR. WHAT THE ****. ****.

Rant over.

Pretty much this.

The entire game should of been Haytham, and shown the more positive side of the templars imo.

I was really disappointed in this game. The first 3 main AC titles were fantastic and even Revelations was decent at what it set out to do. AC 3 however, not so much. Honestly I get the feeling that the whole development got rushed in order to make the one year deadline so they could cash in on Christmas shopping.

Really? I enjoyed it, not nearly as much as AC2 but I liked it more than revelations and about as much as brotherhood.

To each their own I guess.

eh, controversial opinion, but i dig it. I enjoy the tree running and the and the gameplay even if they dumbed it down to arkham city style.

My only problem is that compared to venice and jerusalem, new york and boston at that era are incredibly bland to jump around with

I know exactly how you feel, me and my friend talk about it all the time. The game was so rushed and the final version was so terrible compared to what they showed us at E3. There's rarely any background music which I loved about the older AC's and what happened to those big groups of soldiers versus the other group like Ubisoft provided pictures of? The final version of AC3 was crap, and they should've waited a big longer to perfect it.

though achilles did give me feels.

It definitely was rushed, but I did still enjoy it. Not nearly as much as the rest of the series, but still a decent play.

I was looking forward to this one. I was hoping it would be like the assassin taking the side of the british, where as colonial army being the templars army since all the commanders were freemasons historically. That the templars are there because they were driven from europe by the assassins. the story is then different from the AC as the assassin isn't successful in there endeavour and fails , he manages to hide the amulet, but loses the war, hence given the first breath to abstergo in the future. It would have fit better historically than a mohawk fighting for the colonials(historically speaking) . Also it would not fit with the native american almost single handledly winning the war then the americans orchestrating the trail of tears.
Instead you got a video game version of 'the patriot'. It wasnt so much it being a media that bash the english and hero american, I'm british I 'm used to that, but I love history and with a native american character I was hoping for a fresh perspective. I also expected more research from native american and british point of view then was done. Connor also fell flat neither he felt isolated from his tribe and didn't really feel like he was out for their protection

i guess it's because american audience need a clear distinction between "good" and "evil".... just like "Lincoln", the audience needs to think that Lincoln was taking a crusade for freedom, but the reality is a bit different...

Too bad his stove never picked up, the design was too complicated and even after he reworked the whole design after launch it was still too complicated to work.

I don't understand why they felt the need to thank everyone in the known universe... twice in their credits.
Possibly the longest credits I have ever experienced.
