Since it is impossible to prove or disprove the existence of a higher being, atheism can be classified as a religion since it is the belief that there is no god.

Atheists do not believe 100% that there is no God. They believe there is no proof, therefore there is nothing to believe, but they are not 100% sure, that is illogical. Absence of Proof is not Proof of Absense.

tl;dr Atheism is the belief in nothing

Are you an idiot?
That's not what a religion is.
A religion is a belief in a supernatural force guiding humans,
OR
the belief in a god.
A religion is not just a belief. Atheism is not a religion. Neither is Buddhism, Taoism, or Confucianism. Agnostic is not a religion either.
By your logic, a conspiracy theory that we've never been to the moon is a religion because it is the "belief we haven't been to the moon."

theism: belief in the existence of a god or gods; specifically : belief in the existence of one God viewed as the creative source of the human race and the world who transcends yet is immanent in the world (from Merriam-Webster dictionary)

Atheism doesn't mean a complete lack of religion, it means a lack of belief in a diety or higher power. Buddhist don't believe in a god, and Buddhism is still considered a religion.

Gnosis means knowledge, the prefix "A" means "Lack of".
To be agnostic is to lack certainty and can be applied to anything.
