sword art online abridged

can i say something about SAO, it's something that has always confused me, why does no one hack it? i mean seriously it wouldn't take that long for top software developers to hack into it and create a log off function.

apart from that it's an okay anime, but not really that good. i got bored after episode 5.

This guy programmed the main features of the world's first VR RPG all by himself, and you think that he would simply let it be hacked by a random government hacker.

well considering the time frame the anime takes place in and the danger all the players are in, im sure that the government would foucous a lot of their attention on it.

But he is a evil genius, so your argument is invalid

1 < 10 geniuses.
it's simple maths

1 mad evil scientist > 10 normal pussy geniuses without lab coats
This is also simple math if you are in an anime.

He could simply threaten the government or anyone that if the game were to be hacked he would terminate every player in the game
User avatar #11 to #10 - ninjamyles **User deleted account** (07/30/2013) [-]
but if you hacked the game, what's to stop the hacker from booting him from the game and banning his ip as well as removing his my filthy item daddy status?
#12 to #11 - digitalmasterx ONLINE (07/30/2013) [-]
because thats not how things work, im pretty sure you cant ban or kick an my filthy item daddy, that would be retarded... also the my filthy item daddy would be at the servers so he could easily do stuff.
User avatar #13 to #12 - ninjamyles **User deleted account** (07/30/2013) [-]
im sorry, but i think you missed out some key words there.
#14 to #13 - digitalmasterx ONLINE (07/30/2013) [-]
the website replaces the string a.d.m.i.n with this daddy thing.

you cant deprave an a.d.m.i.n account of its a.d.m.i.n status is what im trying to say, and even so you can input commands without having to log in as an a.d.m.i.n
User avatar #15 to #14 - ninjamyles **User deleted account** (07/30/2013) [-]
but hacking in you could fundamentally alter the base code and remove the adinn of adinn status. and then when he's no longer an adninn you could ban him and his IP
#16 to #15 - digitalmasterx ONLINE (07/30/2013) [-]
no, hacking does not change the code, im pretty sure it doesnt
User avatar #17 to #16 - ninjamyles **User deleted account** (07/30/2013) [-]
hacking is basically coding. and if you hack a game, you are altering it's code.
#18 to #17 - digitalmasterx ONLINE (07/30/2013) [-]
you cant Add/Remove code, most hacking is altering the values of existing variables...

both of you are basing your assumptions on simple console gaming though, sao is played on a devise that would blow up if people tampered with it, and the game only had 10,000 available players since that was all the game disc's made so there werent any spare's to hack with. the data on the disc's deleted itself after the player died

listen fool, i am a grad game dev, i know this **** ...

they use discs to install the program on their pc which CONNECTS with a server, meaning most of the code is run SERVER SIDE.

This means that the code on the server side cannot be tampered with. end of story
User avatar #21 to #20 - xTSoulfireTx (07/31/2013) [-]
your talking in a sense of our time for gaming though. sao takes place in a different timeline with different rules applying to it. the author answered alot of these questions in a panal talk. try talking **** to me about sao and your gonna lose
