Wanna know why this show sucks? Because they don't have an incubator cat telling how this **** rolls. Kyubey keeps **** real, very real.

They have Luna
and Artemis
and Diana

which are way better than Kyubey who says he doesn't even know what lying is then he lies all day long

Kyubey was alright, but Luna and others were the best Magical Girls mascots ever.

kyubey ain't a liar. He just doesn't explain everything all at once. He's a manipulator. And a sexy one at that hell i wanna sex it.

He lied a couple of times
about not being able to feel emotions
about not knowing if Sayaka can be saved- he literally tricked Kyouko into killing herself for the sake of Sayaka, which Kyubey openly admitted to Homura 1 episode later
not telling what he does with the souls or where do witches come from- it was a contract, so he had an obligation to tell them. Everything he didn't tell was outside the deal and he was responsible for it
he really could learn a thing or two about physics...

But yeah, he's still one adorable ************ .

? He felt emotions when? I must have missed the part where he displayed an emotion beyond of what would be normal in his species.

Don't see how that's a lie. All he says is that no one has tried it before and he wouldn't be surprised if it did succeed. Kyouko does what she does with that information and that's her fault for acting on that.

I don't see how he was obligated to tell them everything if they didn't ask before hand. It's like making a loan with some company and then paying fees because you didn't read the fine print. Again Kyubey is being manipulative, but he still isn't lying.

I don't know what you mean here? (You mean the entropy thingy?)

He was running scared a couple of times, and was genuinely happy when Madoka wanted to make a contract with him

Umm, he said that, but 1 episode later when Homura asked him if it was possible, he said it was absolutely not. And he admitted it himself that he tricked Kyouko into killing herself for the sake of Sayaka so that Madoka had no choice but to become a magical girl, since Homura couln't fight Walpurgis Night on her own (and Sayaka and Tomoe were already gone) remember now?

It was a contract, and that's enough. Also, a fine print would be ok, but there was no fine print. So he actually did to them things which they didn't agree on.

"Again Kyubey is being manipulative, but he still isn't lying. " He told Madoka that he 'doesn't even know what tricking others' is. So by being manipulative, he lied.

Yup.

Had to rewatch episode 9.

Running scared? I think he was trying to be efficient in maintaining the amount of dead kyubeys to a minimum.

That still isn't lying in that he only told Kyoko that there had been no precedent of it happening. Even though he himself thought it impossible. He clearly tells kyoko that she probably won't listen to reason. And she says "like hell I will"

What I mean about fine print, is that as the person accepting the contract, it is irresponsible not to ask what all it entails. It's obvious here that we disagree in what makes a contract viable so I will leave that discussion for a different time.

I need to correct you on when he says that that he doesn't know what tricking is. He states that he doesn't understand and while the two may sound similar, they are not. For example if I said I know Kyubei know's Madoka is sad, it does not mean he understands sadness. Hence he could know what manipulation is, but not understand it. The differences are subtle, but the are there.

Also the entropy thing is just plain flawed in general. The author's should have done more research about it before spewing it out. But hell it's a work of fiction, their laws don't exactly apply correctly to our physics.

His voice tone clearly shows it

It was a lie and he admitted it himself. He said he didn't know, when he knew.

It's not about our agreement or disagreement. It's a legal term which has traits that constitute it. Without them, it's not a contract. Also, things which are outside of contract are not things the parties agreed on.

The point remains. He does understand it, and his actions clearly show it. Such differences just reinforce my argument.

I have a feeling that the authors didn't put much thought into Kyubey, I mean, he was supposed to be a cold character, and turned out as a petty liar, if not traitor. He was just a thing that authors needed to push the action forward. Clearly this amount of flaws wasn't put there intentionally, they just thought that nobody will go that deep and just assume that everything Kyubey says is true.

If the author's meant for kyubey to have no emotions then clearly this is a problem in the art department if they made it seem like he was scared. As far as I am concerned the species is emotionless, and any tones implied otherwise are meant for dramatic effect.

He didn't say he didn't know he said that "It was unprecedented and he didn't know of any existing methods that worked. Unfortunately reason doesn't apply to you"

We would have to assume that it was a legal contract wouldn't we. Otherwise a contract at it's simplest form is an agreement between a party. Why would you suspect it has to be a contract based on the legal term. The problem with the contract argument is that we want to assume it is based on the legal term for contract.

But doing something and knowing what you are doing does not equal to understanding it. I breathe, I know I am breathing do I understand why I breathe?

Well, it's a mistake then. Or a lie, like other lies.

Same thing, not telling the truth=lie (when asked)

That's the very definition of the word 'contract', so same rules apply

That comes from what 'tricking' is. To trick someone, you have to do it intentionally. Kyubey was tricking others. Meaning he wanted to.

If you use tumblr right, you can get little to no feminist stuff on your dashboard. I've been using it for a while now (mostly video games and humor), and I haven't run into much of it at all.

Pic related, it's MFW this post
