Is this show still a fake harem?

It's basically a harem, with the "basically" coming from the fact that, while there are a lot of girls involved, 2 are fighting over him as a brother, and 2 aren't serious contenders, so there's only 2 real choices.

I think you mean two see him as a brother, one adores him but doesn't quite understand how genders work, one wants him as a boy toy and two fight over him.

That works too. I just said it less specifically.

The two weirdos are still contenders though. The question is just whether they're planning to take it to church, to bed or wherever that bifauxnen's intending to go with it.

I guess that makes sense. I guess I was thinking in a more general sense. I think we can agree neither of them is likely to "win" in the end. Hell, I haven't seen a lot of this genre though, so maybe that kind of thing is common?

Well, at this pace no one's going to... Ever.
I've pretty much finished the harem genre, and this is the one I've seen where there's the least progress.

But generally speaking, if there's a weirdo contender, they tend to be at least equal to the harem average in chance of victory.

Huh, weird. It seems like a crazy genre. Little strange. Do you know if the novels of this one are any good?

No idea. I tend to just wait for the anime to continue unless the franchise particularly interests me, and Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukanai was IMO pretty boring.

Ya, kinda felt like the first 3 episodes after the intro just repeating themselves. I like what they did for the animation in season 2, at least.

They improved it between seasons? I didn't notice because I finished the first one like half a year before the second came out.

I didn't compare them, but I think I noticed a slight change in the art style. Not much of one, of course. I think it was mostly in how the characters were drawn and possibly in some of the blur effects.

ah, fake harem then. If it doesn't have a Tenchi GXP ending (where he marries all of them.) then it's fake.
User avatar #28 to #13 - TheMather ONLINE (01/15/2014) [-]
There are legitimately less than 10 anime out there that end like that. So if anything that's the fake type for resolving the tension.

Ah, is that what defines it? I thought it was just having more than 2 people interested in the MC. That definition seemed a bit broad though.
