yeah....I'll stick to my Gintama no offense. I deal with enough ******* on /a/ since schoolgirls with guns became insanely popular.

So basically you're just the average ********** ?

Don't you mean cute guns who go to school.

Also, since when was /a/ not full of moe.

About 6 years ago acutally you had to be there to understand. Back then most of the moestuff was split between /a/ and /c/ with most of the girls posted being Faye Valentine style hot bitches. Now its like /c/ barfed its excess moe into /a/

Well /a/ follows what is being given to them. Pretty much all the shows being made now are Moe related, as it sells the most. If they make a new grimdark series or something along the lines of CB it might be very good, but it probably wouldn't sell very well.

Just look at last seasons sales, Nichibros sold very averagely with around 3,000 sales, Another sold pretty badly with around 2,000 sales, and Brave10 sold almost 5,000 (I realize these aren't the greatest examples, it's just that none of these are very "moe"), while shows like HSDXD sells over 10,000. I do realize that /a/ tends to have a lot of threads about the worst shows (Kill me baby and Milky Holmes) but again, it's what is given to us.

Why did I make this long of a response.....

I ask myself that question every day. But Nichibros is different, its supposed to be from a japanese bro's perspective for the bros, by the bros. Yeah the girls primarily watch it, but its alot easier for a guy to watch than other slice of life animes.

It might be easy to watch (I loved it), but unfortunately it just doesn't sell to the hardcore otaku fanbase, which gives companies a lot of money from merchandising and such. The companies see what sells more, and so they make more of it, Supply and Demand so to speak, and when there is more moe shows, /a/ tends to lose sight of anything else.

Although it seems the majority of /a/ just talks about the Type-moon series more than anything else.

Tits and ass will always sell. But its that reason that I hate /a/ for. They go on for that reason only and ignore other good stuff like ************ (Manga not the rushed but really good anime), and Tegami Bachi (really unique story).

/a/ has become like a pack of lemmings simply put.

True, but every once in awhile you get a good thread, and the community does keep away undesirables. So even though it's **** , it's still better than anywhere else.
User avatar #18 to #17 - haywyre (05/16/2012) [-]
Point taken but its become.....xenophobic to an extent, not willing to accept anything that doesnt conform to standards enough
User avatar #19 to #18 - MillionsKnives (05/16/2012) [-]
Heh, that is actually very true. The best examples being specific typing and no emoticons (I like that "rule" but people do freak out a bit strongly when they are used) and also specific types of threads that are just not allowed, like recommendation threads. Now I'm so used to these things that even I have succumbed to it, hating all those things and the like, but I do see how bad it has become.

Consistency breeds blandness, what I also find Ironic is how much /a/ hates bringing back Toonami, considering how many gundam threads it used to go through on an hourly basis plus the God Tier statuses of Big O and Cowboy Bebop, you'd think /a/ would be on board with it, but once they catch wind of /co/ supporting it, its like NOPENOPENOPENOPE 1billion times NOPE
User avatar #21 to #20 - MillionsKnives (05/16/2012) [-]
I wouldn't know, as I've only been on /a/ for a little over 2 years now, but I can see how that is. The main reason I can think of for /a/ not wanting to bring back Toonami is because it would bring more new people. More people would get into anime, which would make them flood boards like reddit and the like, and getting fed up with the new people, the older people on reddit would come to /a/, and so on and so forth. /a/ doesn't want that to happen (or anything like that scenario) so they are against bringing it back. That would be my assumption.

You wouldn't be too far from the mark. As far as the boards go, /a/ is among one of the harshest to criticize newcomers and has a longstanding feud with /co/. IT usually resurfaces from time to time.
