To be fair, christians are pretty evil.
#61 to #24 - psyachu (08/26/2013) [-]
You're seriously going to start this ********* ? C'mon now, be nice.
User avatar #124 to #61 - agrofenlas (08/26/2013) [-]
If you tell the mormans to leave me in peace, sure.
But one more knock on that door and...
I swear to god.
User avatar #136 to #124 - psyachu (08/26/2013) [-]
Well, Mormans don't make up the majority of the Christian population. In fact, I don't think they're very common at all. I maybe had 2 visit in my life, and they didn't annoy me much.
User avatar #137 to #136 - agrofenlas (08/26/2013) [-]
They come to my door every month and there are these elderly woman from another church that hand out watch tower. They go against everything I know. And tell me that video games cause brain damage and are a gateway to other things. Its ******** honestly. -.-
User avatar #138 to #137 - psyachu (08/27/2013) [-]
Dude, let me put it to ya this way. Again, Mormans don't make up a majority of the Christians. I'll be frank with ya, I'm a Christian myself and I think that's a load of bull too, I love video games and stuff. Hell, I play **** like Skyrim and find the whole theology they have interesting (you know, as a story standpoint, kinda like Greek and Roman Mythology). Also, I kinda think Mormans are kinda crazy too, but I guess not as much as you because they don't visit me every month. You should probably think of Mormans as a totally separate religion from Christianity, just for the sake of not generalizing the whole group with that sample.
User avatar #139 to #138 - agrofenlas (08/27/2013) [-]
Well, that's a little semi-theist, though in retrospect I see all branches of christianity as separate religions because they take the values and discard the moral wrongs in the bible though some of them can still be douche bags.

There is no such thing on this earth as an evil Christian, but then again, there are so few 'real' Christians so I get why people can think that.

really now?

Where do I start?
They are and I quote "Non profit." Yet they constantly ask for donations.
It is a religion based around serving an almighty being how he sees fit.
They lie to convert followers. That's the worst offense in my opinion.
The crusades, dark ages, take over of Europe, exile of the Jewish people, witch trials, slavery as a virtue, females as lessers, the inquisition, excommunication...

Sound evil to me.
#112 to #27 - seymourtets (08/26/2013) [-]
I don't agree with people that take every single word of the bible seriously. The words were God inspired, I believe, but not everything was. Specifically, the book of Leviticus, which were laws for the Jewish people in that time. You don't think a few of the 40 some writers of the Bible added their two cents in there? I just try to live by what is right and be good to other people. I'm not God, and I don't know what happens after we die. Until then, I'll try and be the best person that I can and live a good life.
tl; dr: I don't believe every word in the Bible, I just try to be a good person.

Thumb down my opinion if you want, I just wanted to share my belief.
User avatar #127 to #112 - agrofenlas (08/26/2013) [-]
I honestly think we should take some things like the values and leave others, like the fact that we should take slaves.
User avatar #76 to #27 - thedarkestrogue (08/26/2013) [-]
We should show this to the feminists.
"Rape is a crime against the husband. It is the woman's fault for not shouting loud enough to be heard."
User avatar #68 to #27 - theshadowed ONLINE (08/26/2013) [-]
So every Christian is evil? Does that include Martin Luther King, who was a priest as well. Double evil?
What about Henry Dunant. His book started the Red Cross, and he was awarded a Nobel Peace Prize. But wait, he must be evil too, as he was strongly Christian and helped found the YMCA
And let us not forget that evil bastard Desmond Tutu. Yeh, look at him, trying to stop discrimination. **** that guy. This obviously means discrimination isn't evil. Thanks for clearing that up for me. I'll just go shoot a Jew now.
Let us not forget those twats in the Salvation Army. How dare they give up their money and time to help people in need. And giving Christmas presents to children in poverty-stricken countries!? Obviously an attempt to indoctrinate them into the Crusades V2.
Bet its Obama's fault. That ****** is Christian too.
Oh wait, I almost forgotten. My grandmother, who died from Cancer last Christmas, was obviously evil. I mean, apart from spending most of her time after retirement helping charity. She survived cancer twice before she died. Must have been the influence of the Devil. I'll remember to exhume her grave now
User avatar #125 to #68 - agrofenlas (08/26/2013) [-]
Now now... Don't be butt-hurt.
If we followed every word of the bible, we would still own slaves, women wouldn't have rights, and you'd be wearing a burlap sack. I said Christains, not people with strong christain values. Now, quit your bitching, and sit down before I make change out of your five dollar ass.

Strong cristain values, I thought I made that clear.
Huh, guess not, let me restate, again. Did you read the bible?
Do you know it supports slavery, how about the murder of heretics?
No, ok... Well, let me tell you something:
Those people have strong cristain values. You know, what society is founded on.
They are by no means, the ignorant, racist bigots I grew up with.
Kindly show yourself the door, because you can't find the difference.
When people say they are 'christain', it means they have values.
When actual christains speak, its about how women and blacks shouldn't have rights.
Have a nice day.

A little off topic but I want to throw this out there Something I really hate about the bible....

Jesus was not a hypocritical asshole. He never spoke about gays, or women, or really anything in the bible. The bible was written by his followers/friends. The stupid ******* **** they said should be taken as such, stupid ******* human **** written in a book.

Not that I believev in Jesus but take the bible for who wrote it.

You mean a book that is around 2000 year old (im going with around because im too lazy to look up how old it actually is) has withstood the test of time without being blackened by the hearts of cruel men?
Can we stop quoting the bible because in all seriousness, it has so much hate filled **** that was written in it because some fatass with power had a tiff with a certain race/religion/sexual orientation/ etc.

I've got a bible you'd love then. It only has one page.

Numbers 15: 32-36 says nothing at all about anything having to do with the sabbath.

This is all ********
#115 to #57 - ljetibo (08/26/2013) [-]
I'm not big on this religious debates but I believe that one is true if you look at Exodus 31:15:

For six days work is to be done, but the seventh day is a day of sabbath rest, holy to the LORD. Whoever does any work on the Sabbath day is to be put to death.
User avatar #44 to #27 - sirmatthew (08/26/2013) [-]
matthew 9:22 Jesus turned and saw her. “Take heart, daughter,” he said, “your faith has healed you.” And the woman was healed at that moment.

that doesn't say anything about lack of faith causing illness

every one of those was interpreted to the defense of atheists, and this is just one example why I hate the battle between atheists and Christians.
User avatar #94 to #44 - skiskis (08/26/2013) [-]
For a few of them I agree, they were construed to make Christians look bad. However for a lot of them, that is exactly what the bible was saying. Take the one about women for example,
"A woman should learn in quietness and full submission. I do not permit a woman to teach or to assume authority over a man, she must be quiet."

I don't see another way that can be interpreted
User avatar #150 to #94 - sirmatthew (08/27/2013) [-]
back when the bible was written, women weren't allowed an education.
and quietness and submission is something everyone should learn. humility is quite the trait.
so with that I encourage you to interpret it how you will.

but hey, you made my morning. you replied in a completely rational way and didn't swear up a storm. you'll go far.
#140 to #94 - recognize (08/27/2013) [-]
I believe the context of that is within a church a woman should be silent. I think it was because back then women were uneducated and they would blurt things out and yell during the messages and disrupt everyone.
#43 to #27 - spetsnaztm (08/26/2013) [-]
To be completely fair, most of those actions are part of extremist attitudes, which every religion has.

Not once in my reading of the Bible has it said "THOU SHALT KILL MUSLIMS" or "THOU SHALT UNBEARABLY TORTURE PEOPLE JUST BECAUSE THEY MISS A BIT OF CHURCH" <---- inquisition
User avatar #147 to #43 - agrofenlas (08/27/2013) [-]
I actually agree with you, the religion is corrupt though. So it doesn't change much.
That's why I have a saying for every day:
Try not to be cunt.
I sort of just try to live by that.
