bioware has "pandered" to the LGBT crowd since mass effect 2/ dragon age 2.
inqusition is rumored to actually feature a trans preson.
if anybody critique their games, they respond with "muh progressive" & "muh soshul justice"

well to me it really doesn't matter that much, unless they are purposefully shoving transvestite characters in my face in a stupid "omg look how enlightened and accepting we are" way, or if it takes away from the story at all.

For example, I didn't really give a **** about the gay romance options in ME3 because I just didn't pick them. I was able to choose if it mattered or not. Had they made it so that a select group of male characters started hitting on me as I tried to accept/complete missions, then I would have had an issue.

That was the problem though, there came a point in DA2 where you could not do a good playthrough unless you were gay.
A character came up to you and more or less said "Let's gay sex now", regardless of the fact that he clearly wasn't gay in the previous game. If you turned down the gay sex, he hated you. If you accepted, there were no consequences.
That combined with characters hitting on you around every corner, and the characters in the first place being absolute **** seemingly defined entirely by their willingness to sex you.
I'm normally happy with games, I'll normally just say that a game was alright if it has its flaws. Dragon Age 2 is one of the few games which I consider genuinely bad.

pandered? you've got to be joking.

Sure, for lesbian fantasies, they've been doing that since ME1. But gay romances and stuff like that? A grand total of two in ME3, one of which might not be there at all if you kill Kaidan on Virmire.

DA? Once again, barely any homoromances. How the **** is that pandering?

I have no problem with gay romance being in games, its when you force it DOWN peoples throats is when I have a problem with it. First of all gay people in real life aren't as stereotypical as they are in bioware's games, they are normal just like everyone else. Secondly we have the issue where you give gameplay benefits if you have gay sex with someone, like what in the ****, ex in dragon age 2 you either have sex with anders or your other choices make you look like an asshat. Lastly, gay people are a minority, in bioware games it seems like you gathered all the trans and gay people around you in that world. Why does almost everyone have to be gay? Why can't we have some normal gay people and normal straight people instead of sterotypes? Zevran from dragon age origins was gay but his character was awesome and very well done. Why can't Bioware get that making good characters first instead of focusing on their sexual preferences should be the priority?

You don't like it being "forced" down your throat? Forgive me for feeling no pity for you. As a gay guy I've had straight relationships that I can't relate to stuffed down my throat every day of my life, and I don't go around complaining about it.

We get it, there's more of you. But the point is what you're feeling so angry about is what being gay feels like, only not just with bioware. Its a perpetual every day thing.

So it sucks your feelings are hurt by seeing relationships you don't understand. But I feel like if I can get over it, you should be able to as well.

O so your mentality is that if I have to suffer everyone has to suffer? Note that I am not against gay romances but Idk how you as a gay person like how Bioware potrays homosexual people. Bioware's gay characters in dragon age 2 at least are the most sterotypical I have ever seen and are an insult to the gay community. I am all for different romances but don't make every character in the game bi sexual and don't make them stereotypes. And tbh I have never seen any game that forces heterosexual relationships unless its a linear game, bioware on the other hand actively penalized people in dragon age 2 if they did not initiate a gay romance with certain characters such as adding massive rivalry points.

One thing I have to point out is that Zevran was actually bi, as he could romance a male or female warden; but if anything, I think that adds to your point. Bioware is extremely hesitant to include characters that are gay/straight. It seems like every single character in all of their rpg's HAS to be bisexual.

No, you could still have a homosexual relationships with them. I remember because on my first playthrough, Alistar would constantly hit on me (male warden). My point was, Bioware insists on companions being able to have a relationship with both genders, instead of having some characters that are bisexual/homosexual, and some that are heterosexual.

It's also probably partly so you can project yourself more onto your character without being limited in who you romance. Kind of like how the description of Bella (from what i'm told) in the Twilight books was rather vague so that you could more easily imagine yourself as Bella.

Actually I was impressed on how well they handled Steve and Samantha in Mass Effect 3, they were characters that you would have no idea were gay, until Steve opens up to you and Shepard comes on to Samantha. The major complaint is that they turned Kaiden bisexual, which wouldn't be a problem if they did the same to Ashley, due to the fact that these are supposed to be mirror characters.

I actually liked DA:2 better than DA:1.

In my defense i played DA:2 first. and thought, damn! gotta try the first one aswell!

The lack of action, and the big amount of time spending on talking ruined it for me. Way to much in my opinion.

In DA:2 they made it everything better by actually making the main character speak with a voice you can hear. that made all conversations abit more interresting
But that's just my opinion.

Which is why 2 was a terrible RPG game.
You're not RPing, you're just playing Hawke.

It's still a RPG game when you choose what she/he must say.
Either way i like these sorts of games. Like The witcher.
You follow a storyline of a character but you choose the path yourself.

And The witcher also had voice covers for the main character. which i enjoyed.

I just didn't have any expectations for D:2. which didn't ruin the game to me as it did to you.
Hamster ready for your hate against my passion for this specific kind of games.
