Other than the color, there is no difference. It all has to do with the color of the hen's ear lobes. White ear lobes = white eggs, and vice versa.

- white eggs are laid by white chickens (white feathers - white earlobes)   
- brown eggs are laid by red/brown chickens (red feathers - red earlobes); they usually cost more because those chickens (Rhode Island Red etc are larger and thus eat more food)   
   
nutrition and taste of both eggs are the same though.

Actually, Inspectoryellow is correct. The nutritional value of the eggs is equal, but Brown eggs are laid by Chickens, and White eggs are laid by Hens (White Chickens)
