Well, OP checks out:
Male, late teens to early 20s?: Check
[url deleted]
Bill regulating black powder? Check
Let's wait on the firearms thang.

I'm not an American by the way, I just believe that your government shouldn't have to lie and fool you into voting for something. It should be an entirely honest approach, idealistic I know, but **** if I'm not gonna work towards an honest society and **** you for bending over and getting ****** knowingly. You're worse than those who don't know that their anus isn't meant to be perforated by their governments.
User avatar #36 - occamsrazor (04/20/2013) [-]
wait you can just buy black powder like that wtf?

"Male late teens to early 20s" - just like those behind most terrorist attacks that make the news?
"firearms and an NRA book in his home" - if you're prepared to blow the **** out of a whole load of people, surely it's almost certain you'll have a gun, especially in a country where they're so available.
"bill regulating black powder" - why the hell is it a bad thing to regulate who can buy a ******* explosive?!

You Americans and your guns and conspiracy theories - I'm going to get red thumbed to hell for this but has it ever occured to you that maybe your government is actually trying to protect you (or at the least, screw you over more subtly) or do you have to assume that every bad thing that happens in your country isn't because of a broken society or anything and is instead the government's fault?

Agree with you 100%

yea but i would like to see anyone attack a country where we are so crazy with our guns
User avatar #7 to #3 - numbersixtyseven **User deleted account** (04/20/2013) [-]
Again, who would want to attack your ******* country? If you're afraid of other nations invading your ******* country, then vote for people who aren't aiming to piss off every other nation, including your bloody allies.

Black powder is hardly used for explosives or modern firearms anymore.

I use it for Revolutionary War re-enactments. This would make it harder for me to have fun.

Kindly **** off.

He's proposing a background check. If you've got nothing to hide, then why is that a problem?
User avatar #11 to #5 - eattherich (04/20/2013) [-]
He could be denied the right to buy it if he even got charged for smoking weed as a teen which a lot of people have. But that isn't really the point people are trying to make. It's that bills like this are stepping stones for much more drastic and restrictive laws to come.

Also I am not American. I live in Canada.
User avatar #27 to #2 - Maroon ONLINE (04/20/2013) [-]
I think the point is the accusation that the government set the whole thing up. I prefer to think the government wouldn't do that to it's people but really history has been proving otherwise for thousands of years, so who knows.
#42 - Rascal (04/20/2013) [-]
What if terrorists are trying to make American civilians unarmed so that it will be easier to invade?
User avatar #43 to #42 - floraa (04/20/2013) [-]
that is exactly what happened before the holocaust. it is happening all over again

What did you expect me to be capable of?
#41 - newall (04/20/2013) [-]
read it.

Even if it is true - all it proposes is background checks. Assuming you aren't a violent criminal, you have nothing to worry about.

Why are you all so afraid of ******* background checks?

too bad black powder is nothing special. you need carbon, sulfur, and potassium nitrate. all are relatively easy to get.

tip #1: don't be dumbasses and your guns won't be taken away
tip #2: don't be a dumbass and try to take away law abiding citizens' guns
User avatar #33 to #32 - spikethepony (04/20/2013) [-]
I seem to be doing just fine on those two concepts, but how do I make other citizens stop taking my guns away? This seems to be a recurring issue, as of late.
User avatar #38 to #33 - szymonf (04/20/2013) [-]
WHy do you need a gun in a first world nation that is also the worlds only superpower which has the worlds largest military expenditure?
User avatar #40 to #38 - tehrealfluttershy (04/20/2013) [-]
Because we line in a first world nation that has the largest military expenditure...

Guns help keep the government under control by them knowing if they do try to oppress the people, they will be met with resistance.
User avatar #45 to #40 - szymonf (04/20/2013) [-]
That is the BIGGEST ******** argument in the world.

The US government is about as scared of a few hicks with rifles as I am of you.
User avatar #49 to #45 - tehrealfluttershy (04/21/2013) [-]
Um no actually... If millions of US citizens own AR-15's (Which they do.) Regardless of training, they become a threat. And most people who have them are extremely good with them. My family has a few AR's and AK-47's and we all shoot them pretty regularly just for fun. Be hell, we'd be a threat. We might not take many with us, but we'd take some with us and we wouldn't give them up without a fight.
User avatar #50 to #49 - szymonf (04/22/2013) [-]
then why do you have a democratically elected government?
#51 to #50 - tehrealfluttershy (04/22/2013) [-]
I'm not really sure why that's even a question... We don't have the guns because we have to fight off the government. We have the guns in case the government no longer is a democratically elected government. If they try that, or to take away our rights, we have guns.
User avatar #39 to #38 - spikethepony (04/20/2013) [-]
Because there are always going to be people who have weaponry and can use it to threaten me. My guns are purely for my protection. There are people out there who are currently prohibited from owning guns due to criminal records, and they can still acquire firearms. There will always be a black market. I don't want to be cut off from weaponry simply because I follow the laws and someone else doesn't.

#9 - noghri (04/20/2013) [-]
Yeah because congress can get a bill passed to simply add more comprehensive background checks to buying guns in the wake of like 3 mass shootings. Oh wait...that still hasn't happened....but I'm sure they'll get right on regulating black powder.
User avatar #1 - iamkagji (04/19/2013) [-]
**** . It's a good thing I mix my own, or this might be a problem. I'll do my best to circumvent this for as many people as possible. Provided it passes, of course.

#6 - Rascal (04/19/2013) [-]
I fail to see how this is a problem. Isn't this a good thing? Could make it harder from complete cunts to randomly blow people up, that's always a plus. I'm not hating, I live on the other side of the world, in a very small gun-less community (even the police don't have them), so I'm genuinely curious about this. More comment discussion is needed.
#22 - Rascal (04/20/2013) [-]
All these retarded conspiracy theories are so ******* annoying... The only motive that the government might have to regulate firearms is to reduce the number of armed robbers and killers that give america the highest proportional prison population in the developed world
User avatar #28 to #22 - aluminiumfoiled (04/20/2013) [-]
Right, so you're saying that robbers and killers obey the gun laws?
User avatar #26 to #22 - Maroon ONLINE (04/20/2013) [-]
That's not why we have so many prisoners. Most of our prisoners are there on minor charges, usually possession. I don't like conspiracy theories either, but at the same time you shouldn't be so willing to eat the ******** the government is spoon feeding you.
