when i was 4, a black widow bit me. i am still afraid of spiders. that is a valid reason.
#5 to #3 - professorrowan (07/27/2012) [-]
when I was 1 my dad put me down a waterslide, is that a valid reason to be afraid of drowning?
#10 to #5 - redguardsman (07/27/2012) [-]
You're not quite this badly thumbed down, but still, here you go.
#9 to #5 - professorrowan (07/27/2012) [-]
why are people thumbing me down? I never learned how to swim because of that incident
User avatar #16 to #9 - symustafa (07/27/2012) [-]
Same here, except someone (namely my dad) pushed my into the adult pool when I was 7 during my second day at the pool. I hate swimming now.

...YES! People have even stupider reasons for their fears, ever heard of what Christians did to Harry Potter books?
User avatar #13 to #8 - demonchain ONLINE (07/27/2012) [-]
No, please elaborate.
User avatar #88 to #13 - angelojuusan (07/27/2012) [-]
Basically, some Christians in the deep South got the idea that the Harry Potter books were enticing children to practice witchcraft and Satanism. I believe they had a book burning, or at least went around libraries ripping copies off shelves. It's been a while, but that's the general story.

When I was little my older brother used to sneak into my room with various masks on and sit at the end of my bed or at the doorway in the dark. (sometimes made noises to I'd notice him). Made me afraid of the dark. I still am. I'm 23...
