The guy I'm with and plan on spending my life with was on the other side of the country when I met him and he's way better than any dick I ever met that was in the same down as me. True love knows no distance.

Sorry; let me correct that.

At least your online love interest was in the same country

I used to play FFXI and I met numerous people that met their husbands or wives when they lived in different countries. They got together, moved in together and are living extremely happy lives together. These are the people that aren't interested in just having some sex and shit like that. These are people that have more of an interest in actually falling in love and staying that way. It's not like I was looking to fall in love with someone when I met him but it happened and I couldn't be happier for it. You fall in love with people and you can't always help it.

You have a very valid point; I suppose my opinion is biased based on my own circumstance.
I do not see the point of people purposely looking overseas for a partner they'll never meet.

Would you; reject somebody perfect for you, that you are in love with, in your own town, if you had feelings for someone overseas first?

There is a situation and a time for everything. I can't say I would and I can't say I wouldn't Like I mentioned previously, I was in a relationship when I met the guy I'm with who was literally on the otherside of the country (I was in AZ, him in FL) but the relationship I was in was dying hardcore and I was sick of fighting to keep a relationship together that he had no interest in trying. If the relationship was serious enough and it was looking like we could move in together and live together, then yes, I would reject them. However, if I didn't think it would work out and I was more serious about the person in my town then no, I wouldn't reject them. Everything depends on situations.

It does; yes.
I strongly agree with you. The question was stated for sort of info-gathering purposes.

What you did in your situation was sensible; and you actually met him, did you not? And you two are in the same country. What i'm rustled about; is those that keep themselves glued to the internet, over people they know they will never meet, and push good people away

I met him on the internet and I ended up flying to meet him two weeks after I finally ended the relationship I was in and then he came out to see me three months later. I can understand what you are saying and see where you are coming from but not every situation is like that.
User avatar #292 to #289 - succubus ONLINE (06/28/2012) [-]
Yes; and I do understand that.
I do apologize for my rude approach to begin with; and thankyou for taking the time to further explain your side. It has made it a little easier to rationalize in my mind. :)

Hey no problem. I'm glad to have helped a little. x3
User avatar #298 to #295 - succubus ONLINE (06/28/2012) [-]
You did :P

And just for the record; I really did not call you ugly. :)
I know what it's like to be abused and called that.
User avatar #301 to #298 - stigmaticsynn (06/28/2012) [-]
Well even if you had, I grew up with all the kids in my school calling me ugly so it's something I'm used to. It's something I've just kind of accepted about myself.
User avatar #303 to #301 - succubus ONLINE (06/28/2012) [-]
From your picture; I really do not think you're ugly. I love your eyes :D

Yeeeah, I know I'm ugly but I really dgaf and I really don't need to because why the fuck does it matter when I'm with the person I'm going to be with for the rest of my life? And it had nothing to do with desperation. If I were desperate, I would have stayed in the relationship I was in when I met him.
User avatar #272 to #267 - succubus ONLINE (06/28/2012) [-]
If I thought you were ugly; I would have said it.

I merely stated that the statement in question is mainly used by those previously mentioned
