But the Samurai are Chinese?

Anyway Japan is just a region in China so it's kinda true.

Japanese and chinese have several identical characters used for entirely different words. Considering the word for "3" and the radical for "mouth" are where the triangle and square buttons are supposed to be in chinese, im going to guess its japanese.

I'm currently studying japanese in university and you are absolutely right. The japanese took those characters from chinese, but in japanese they don't usually mean the sama. The japanese took their phonetics, using the sound of the character instead of actually using the meaning of the character. Also the right button is the character for "circle". What I don't fully understand is the use of character meaning "to wait" on the move arrows and the character for samurai on the lower button...

i don't know i don't speak slant eye, all i know is the character is a samurai so i just assumed the letters were jap... leave it to some internet fanboy to put a samurai with chinese writing.

I studied Japanese at high school and study chinese now at the university. So the thing is: the japs have 3 alphabets, 2 small ones (Hiragana, Katakana) and a big one the "kanji" with thousands of signs. Now the interesting part is that the Kanji are the same signs that the Chinese use, because they stole them from the chinese or some historical **** like that. However they spell the signs and words completely different, although the meaning of the signs is the same, which means that a person from japan and a person from china theoreticly could communicate via written language, but not by talking to each other.
