Not really an asshole story as much of a win, happened a few weeks ago, actually. but it seems fitting:

>be in freshman math class
>class decides to blow off work by asking teacher what she thinks about gay marriage
>everyone in class is supportive except for one girl we all call Bobbi-The-Bible-Banger
>she says "ew, gays are a sin."
> come back with "bitch, your outfit is a sin."
>turns out teachers sister is lesbian, promises to give me an A for the rest of the quarter for come-back.
>Bobbi is suspended for rest of the semester for being prejudiced.

pretty sweet day, that was.

You're harassing her for her opinion on it as she did to you.

Well, as a strong believer in karma, she did get what was coming to her. and if what i did was morally wrong, then I too shall have bad luck coming to me.

I think what he means is she has an opinion and you're insulting her for it, yet you're calling her immoral for not being accepting of other people's choices.

Well, let's put it this way;

if she has the right to insult other people's opinions, then that should give people the right to insult hers.

No one is special, or free from having their opinions criticized. She criticized someone's I criticized hers.

i share you belief on this thumb for you

....Alright, so then she did nothing wrong, because you JUST said she has the right to insult other people, meaning she was unjustly punished and that teacher was out of line.

Everyone has Right of Free Speech, but there are also certain places that it is not acceptable. Discrimination, opinion or not, could still be punished.

An example is if I were to go into the street and start saying " ******* are filthy sinful apes." I would be arrested for discrimination and public indecency. She was punished for discrimination, an offense that is highly frowned upon in the school system. She had the right to say what she did, but it was also highly offensive.

So then you're still a hypocrite, because you JUST SAID she DOES have the right to do it, yet you're saying that she doesn't now that it doesn't suit you.

And really that is a horrible argument because being 'arrested for verbal discrimination' is honestly utter ******** , and a very one-sided argument.

You realize that by this logic, by calling someone who is very religious a bible-thumper in public YOU should be arrested for discrimination too, as well as all of your class, AND that teacher, for not respecting her opinions and outright insulting her for them.

Honestly, I think what YOU did was worse, because where as she was just generalizing it and her hatred wasn't directed at any specific gay person, all of you ganged up on her and purposefully and maliciously tried to hurt her specifically with insult.

Basically what I'm saying is, discriminating against people who discriminate against others is still discrimination.
