So I'm watching Mirai Nikki and I'm getting pretty pissed. I just hate it when anime has rape in it. I just hate knowing that a character I like is either about to be, or has a history of being raped.

So I was wondering, what pisses you off most in a story?
(e.g. protagonist is oblivious, rape, protagonist is invincible and/or overpowered, etc)

I hate Rape too...

Especially when you´re looking for Hentai for a Series and everything has fucking rape in it and you don´t want the character to be raped....see Chunnibyou

also, Moralfags like Suzaku Kururugi. MCs who can´t do Shit piss me off too. Way too many things piss me off...

What pisses me off is knowing that the MC will never die, no matter how great the hardships. Feeling that the MC has a 'protective aura of MC-ness' and that somehow magically everything will be alright is something I find annoying.
This is the reason I've dropped Fairy Tail. I simply KNEW nothing could/would happen to any of the 'main good guys' and I just sat there feeling dumb for watching something too predictable. Went into 70 episodes hoping for a death of a MC, or at least death of SOMEONE important to the story, but I am dissapoint.

I agree with this. Rape just makes it uncomfortable to watch and leaves bothersome feelings.

If it's in anime I still get pissed. Take sixth for example, I didn't really like her but I was still incredibly angry that she was raped. Not to mention often.

Actually I found Yuki to be one of the most annoying little whiney shitbag MCs I have EVER come accross, and I finished up on my 50th anime and something like 10th VN a week ago

I haven't seen an anime that pulled off betrayal real well.
Got any examples?

Berserk has one scene where the main char is betrayed pretty hard by his best friend, can't say much more than that without spoiling.

Oh, and I don't care much for rape 90% of the time, the way it's used in anime. Comes off as a cheap emotion grab more often than not. But I still feel like the way people overreact to rape in media is hilarious and silly.

I figured they would use it to get a sense of empathy if it's in the past, and rage if it is about to or currently happening.

I just get pissed either way. I overreact to it too much, but it's my weakness.

Yeah, the way Mirai Nikki did it was really dumb. It did nothing but make the character of Yuno weaker as a whole, rather than improving on it.

I guess, I also got really pissed when they kept showing six's history. I nearly blew up because that fucking cult is everything wrong with her.

Funny, I remember a thread like this a few months back. A LOT of people here hate rape in anime. I wouldn't have guessed.

Whiny female characters and overly-smug bad guys piss me off.

"Overly"-smug. The kind of villain I hate will get himself pinned pinned against the wall, have five guns to his head, and still will act like he runs shit. (For example) I finished a (horrible) anime recently, and during one scene the main bad guy was dangling over the edge of a bulding pissing his pants and screaming for his life. When the MC took pity on him and saved him, his response was "Ha, you fell for my trap of acting scared! You're so weak!"

Kimbley is awesome in every way. I'd never insult such a wonderful villain.

Unrealistic power of friendship. Or the power of feelings in general.
It may boost morale, but so many shows pulls it way too far. destroys the tension of the story for me
