My brother has 2 herniated disks, but had a microdisktectomy I think to try and fix it, its still bad, but they say he can basically never lift heavy stuff again

Mine is from a fall a few years ago. When I fell, I broke my back and it didn't heal right. I went back to work, lifting heavy **** ignoring the issue. Well it got worse, got laid off, woke and my legs were weak (moms spaghetti). Doctor doesn't know exactly. Had two MRIs, can't see the issue. So it could be fibromyalgia or a big issue within the spinal column...so he said...dude....find a new job. Don't lift anything over 15lbs (good thing too, because it hurts to bend over). Been very hard trying to find a good paying job that I qualify for, that I can do.

Take it from one who used to work at an Amazon sortation center (moving **** like full grills, cast iron gates, fertilizer, dog food bags for big dogs, large cat litter bags), the phrase "No Heavy Lifting" is truly a beautiful one!

We Guess I should say "they" seeing how they let me go this Monday after more than a year of working with them all cause they need to make room for the new hires, goddamn jerks have no control who delivers the package to the house itself, those dum-dums belong to FedEx/UPS. All we do is sort the boxes, envelopes, weird white bag thingies, overweight/oversized hell wrapped in cardboard, and send them out to the FedEx/UPS centers near their respective destinations.

Can you get a 400 lb anvil from Amazon? I've been in the market, and my local area sucks for getting reasonably priced anvils. Although a 125lb one should be fine.

Is your job market really that good? Whats the cost of living/ unemployment rate? I'm sick of having to choose between no job and a job that literally makes you consider being homeless for a few years nearly every day for a buck over minimum and no chance of advancement. My dad is a chemical engineer turned petroleum engineer, all the men in my family going back generations got high paying good jobs based solely on the merit of their intelligence and good work ethic. I would settle for a job I hate that just pays okay.

was homeless for over a year less than 3 years ago. today im making an average of $450 a week take home.
my advice to you, even if its just retail, is to treat your job like its a responsibility/duty rather than a chore. dont ever rush anything last minute just because you want to punch out. dont do things just to get them done. dont be a pawn, be a player. you'll be surprised by the difference it makes. it sounds silly to say that about a simple retail job, but if you follow that advice, it wont be too long until you become a manager, and from there you will have a lot more options available to you.

The fact that "dental is included" is what got her confuses me.
Mainly because non of our jobs include dental, yet i could bash my own teeth out and get them fixed up free with the hospital.
Also, tipping is the most BS piece of **** ever.
Tipping should not be mandatory and people should not have to rely on them to make ends meet, pay your employees a propper wage and stop hogging it all for yourself and blaming the customers that the staff dont earn enough.
Do not take a job that pays in tips. Refuse. Tips should be given if you have gone above and beyond not just cos 'you gotta'

hvac or electrical engineering is easy field to get into
always jobs around, pays well, schools will set you up with jobs and have you work summers.
if you'll work you'll live well.

Try janitorial work. Its pretty easy and generally pays ok, pretty high turnover so if you play yes-man, likely to move up. Im nearly at 1 year and its pretty alright as far as "broken dreams replacement" jobs go.
