Maybe he's implying that only a imperial spy would think the resistance wouldn't know how to spell imperials correctly, so they would always spell it wrong?

Remember when YouTube implemented the new layout, and now 60% of the screen is white space? What about when they made it so you couldn't log in with a YouTube username? YouTube almost seems to get off on pissing on their community, but what always happens? We're forced to just deal with it.

YouTube doesn't give a **** about their users, and why would they? They're like the second biggest website on the Internet. If we expect anything to change, there needs to be more of a negative backlash aside from angry comments saying "teh new **** suuucks". Want YouTube to change? It's gonna take a lot, and it starts by not using them.
User avatar #83 to #22 - daentraya (11/11/2013) [-]
Sooner of later, people will stop complaining once they realize youtube doesn't give a **** . That shan't stop us from showing how disgruntled we are. And moving to a new site takes too much collective effort, and it requires that whatever site has what it takes to do what youtube does. And if there is such a site, it'd take the collaborative effort of all major youtubes to move there and post their videos..
**** i hate that a single company has the power to disgruntle so many people

Users aren't dropping YouTube any time soon.
Websites like YouTube are built to be monopoly - users are going to flock where the content is rich and ever present, and there isn't anyone that's stealing YouTube's throne right now - not even close. That's why Google+ could never overcome Facebook in the first place - social networks are built to be a monopoly as well, and Facebook's got the biggest, strongest hold right now.
Put quite simply - Google's trying to monopolize everything. They already reign supreme in Search Engine, they've got the largest video network by far, they only need to put some elbow grease and try to make the last push into Social Networking.

And to make matters worse, everything we've come to know about the digital world is based on addiction. You will pull out your smart phone and check it constantly because you are addicted to it - and it's designed to hook you just like that.

There may be ways to pushing Google off the pedestal - maybe have several groups of cutting edge programmers, designer, innovators, and business leaders come together and build something absolutely mind blowing (it's how Facebook kicked Myspace off the pedestal). But then the question will arise as to whether or not they'll be so sparing with the monopoly, or whether or not those that take the reins they'll inevitably leave behind.
Either way, it's not going to be as simple as just "stop using it".

I think Facebook is losing some steam though with their constant removal of privacy features among a few other things. But then again people will just say if you want privacy just don't have a Facebook, but that's stupid IMO. Some people just want to be friends with their friends and not be able to be found by a stranger.

One thing that we may take pleasure in is apparently there's a statistic floating around that states the next generation will be less likely to take up Facebook than the previous ones have (e.g. ours and the ones around us). So perhaps that will decide the faith of YouTube and Google+ - a next generation change-up, the same way Yahoo and AOL became shadows of their former empire.

Actually, I have always wondered what would have happened if they had simply rammed the iceberg instead of having it scrape a hole into 2/5ths of the ship.

I speculate you would have buckled isolation sections A and B, lodged yourself on the iceberg, and sat there until help came. I suppose the only other point of concern for me would be to ask what was kept in those two sections.

quite frankly, I think youtube right now is like "wallmart" from southpark, started off as a cool little shot, evolved into an out of control monster that no one would escape, eventually it will probably be gone and another little site will take its place, then we do it all over again

You're going to need more than a petition if you want actual change within Google to happen.
A lot more.

Yes, but you never know, a little faith is better than none!
User avatar #51 to #42 - theantihipster (11/11/2013) [-]
Here's the thing. Corporations never admit they did anything wrong. With a company as large as google, they will never just revert it back, they will try to add in the things people want and make the entire thing even more complicated than it was. People will get used to it, but it will suck.
User avatar #52 to #51 - pointblankrange (11/11/2013) [-]
Yeah, it would only happen if users could do something substantial to make them turn it back... Then there would be another update!
User avatar #53 to #52 - theantihipster (11/11/2013) [-]
Well the problem is, the actual effort it would take to do that is impossible. How many youtube users and clients just show videos on their phones? Quickly find something and watch it? People are too casual and the sheer public outcry it would require for them to actually change would take a campaign so massive and expensive that it would vastly outweigh the benefits, since no one would make money on the result. There's just no way to change it. The other thing you have to realize is that the people who change these things don't give a **** , they just look at what kind of benefit they could get and force on the lazy society of middle class casual internet users who don't give enough of a **** to actually change any of it. The amount of people who do care enough will never be enough to tip the scales of the sales department, who, I may add, are known for ******* over the entire rest of the company in any corporate situation. It's not only possible, but likely, that the rest of google hates this goddamn ******** change, but the sales department has ****** it up with another ****** change, and for the matter of people bitching about constant changes, they will simply say 'oh, well, can't please everyone' and change a few small details to shut some people up.
#90 to #32 - anoner (11/11/2013) [-]
what's actually wrong with the comment system now? It says "most popular" but all the comments are random and completely off topic. Is that just YouTube being YouTube or has Google ****** up?
User avatar #111 - joehue (11/11/2013) [-]
You know, Youtube has made plenty of **** changes, but at least most of the time you could just get around it aside from the annoying "Would you like to use your real name!" message every other day.

This is a whole new level of low though, forced Google+ on youtube users that didn't even want it, connected posts and the comment section is like a ******* maze now and I have no idea what the **** is going on. They're slowly sinking their own ship, but the biggest reason it hasn't become the next 'Myspace' is because there are not a whole lot of sites that are exactly like youtube or at least well-known like them.

I hope they either clean their **** up or that some rising site that may already exist comes and takes their spot as the main place to go for videos.
#43 - lionti ONLINE (11/11/2013) [-]
This post isn't accurate. Youtube has already hit Google+ and is swiftly sinking. The only thing left of Youtube are some metal scraps that are floating helplessly in the water. All the people on board the ship are either dead or dying slowly. MFW looking through Youtube comments these days

User avatar #36 - aluminiumfoiled (11/11/2013) [-]
I do feel as though Youtube is headed for a "stock market" style crash. It seems like video output is booming right now, and if **** hits the fan, famous youtubers won't get as many views and thumbs as they do now.
User avatar #39 to #36 - akkere (11/11/2013) [-]
Doubtful. Youtube's got a heavy hold on the video output right now, and also have the most populace as a result. The sad part about this is that the market YouTube deals in has an uncanny rule - the amount of people browsing is proportional to the amount of content (as well as how much of that content holds quality), and the amount of content brought into the site is proportional to the amount of audience that may view it, as they are present within the site. It's a viscous cycle, and Google knows this, that's why they're pushing Google+ with such little care for the backlash because they know it won't amount to anything against them.
User avatar #88 to #36 - viscerys (11/11/2013) [-]
Famous YouTubers will get more views and thumbs, while starting YouTubers will get less.
