This is why I don't like horses. They're big, flighty, and unpredictable. Maybe for someone who's worked around them for years I could understand, but for Joe Schmo like myself, I'd rather keep my distance. Bad enough when my dog clocks me in the face because he gets too excited.

Horses usually respond depending on the type of person that they interact with.

Because they're herd animals, they become unstable and flightly when someone nearby is unsure, fearful, angry, or cautious. The horses can somehow sense it, and they reflect those emotions back very strongly.

It's why my mom can't even go near a horse without it acting up, but the same horse would walk up to me freely and let me ride him without problem. And she was the one that grew up raising them and I've spent probably a total of 24 hours with horses over the course of my entire life.

you are right, horses are dangerous, i had one fight me on a rope, just because someone slammed their door nearby, i simply allowed the extra line to allow him to arch all the way high, and come down, then put him back in his stable and marked his as as "mentally unstable for today" those horses where some of the most pampered horses I've ever seen, which makes them the more dangerous
