Jesus, every Trump rally I see, it's like half the audience is asleep 80% of the time. Same thing for Clinton rallies.
Then I watch a Sanders rally and see standing ovations after heavily delivered lines every thirty seconds.
Say what you want about sides, Trump has gotten all the people he's gonna get.
Nice meme tbh. This one happened last month It's like you never even seen his rallies. It's pretty much the only thing he talks about for the first 10 minutes.
Honestly. Bernie Sanders sounds like a great choice for president. Universal health care and universal college.
But really, I don't see how he can supply 18 trillion dollars with the situation we have now. If it was any other situation with a better economy. Sure, it will be no problem. But he would have to tax the 1% by 90% in order to make a dent in it. And what would happen if the 1% moves to places with lower taxes?
It's not 18 trillion/year. It is 18 trillion over ten years, which will save money. Instead of having medicare, medicaid, ACA, everybody is entitled to health care under medicare.
That's what I meant. 18 trillion over a decade. And that's actually pretty interesting.
I mean assuming we don't suffer the same wait times as Canada, that will be a pretty good idea. Has there been a purely economic analysis of this? Effect on the economy and all that?
I mean, it's a good time to mention that people on both sides of the political spectrum want universal healthcare, people just disagree on the implementation.
During Harper's happy fun times in Canada, of course its health care would slip. Harper's party is conservative, and has done some pretty ****** things to Canadian health care, similar to what Cameron's had done to the UK's NHS. They strategicallt underfund it, say something to the effect of "See? I told you government run health care sucks!" when there are large wait times, and subpar coverage. Then, in the case of the UK, the majority party votes to sell parts of the NHS to private insurers to drive up cost, because of elitist nepotism, or bribery. It's a shame that the major conservative parties in the western world have turned into a bunch of crony capitalists, because the right does raise good points, occasionally. Not the Marco Rubio, Jeb Bush, Donald Trump kind of right, I mean.
Per capita, Canada pays $4,429 dollars as of this year per capita. The $15 trillion healthcare costs come up to be $4,704 dollars per capita. Meaning the costs are nearly the same.
One of the major reasons I don't want him as president, is that we're almost at 2016, and he still didn't release any plans. No tax reforms and from the link you showed me, not even describing the healthcare plans. It honestly would put my mind at ease if he released anything.
Is he planning a nationwide increase in taxes? How much taxes does the top bracket have? What is the economic analysis of all of this? I mean, there's a reason why socialism fundamentally doesn't work. So is he going to implement a socialistic type system?
Why not look at his record in Burlington? www.thenation.com/article/bernies-burlington-city-sustainable-future/
While he has not released a comprehensive plan, as these are rather difficult to make, and anyone releasing a plan on this scale without consulting every adviser possible is truly talking out of their ass, here is his website with some other issues. berniesanders.com/issues/
He's not a socialist. More of a Western European style social democrat. To be fair, calling Bernie, or any of the US dems a socialist is a grave insult to actual socialists. Let's have Professor Richard Wolff explain what socialism is:
For what I have read, it speaks well for him, but I am just worried that the government is going to do that ****** thing it does and lock up. My understanding of politics is... decent, kind of not really.
I've been involved in student politics. Not nearly the same, but I understand Congress' brand of politics well enough. If you ever feel like reading up about candidates, local, or national, opensecrets.org , and votesmart.org are excellent resources.
Cool, I will look at that when I am done with an essay I should be working on. Also student politics is cool, not sure why I say that but I heard good things about it, though I was never apart of it. It definitely can help you understand the system.
Jesus Christ. It's like you've only read about the liberal news stories and not actually read what he actually said in context.
First, Muslims.
He doesn't want to ban Muslims. He wants to stop immigration from Muslim countries to America. If you actually read the reasons why he wants to (that was listed on his websites), is that there was a poll on Syrian refugees, and a quarter of them want to bring down America as part of the global jihad. Half of them want to enact Sharia law in the countries they're immigrating to. Meaning, stoning homosexuals to death, stoning women to death who disagree with the Muslims. Hell, even stoning everyone to death for disagreeing with them. Imagine this scenario. You bring 4 strangers to spend the night with you at your home. You know for a fact that at least 1 of the strangers wants to burn down your house. You also know for a fact that another refug-... sorry, stranger* wants to kill you for disagreeing with you. Would you rather lock the doors and go to sleep, or let them in? And he didn't exactly say ban, anyway. It's only a temporary placement that will disappear once ISIS is dismantled and Muslims don't want to blow **** up.
If you think that stopping the immigration is racist. Then guess what Obama did for 6 months during his first term of office? Stop all immigration from Iraq (or Iran, I forgot which country) due to suspected terrorist activity. And that wasn't even as bad as this is. He's proposing the same exact plan. If you want to read more about why the Muslim immigration is bad, watch this video www.youtube.com/watch?v=vZ7piCaqdf4
Freedom of speech:
To my understanding, the only thing he wanted to do is block ISIS websites in order to stop spreading fear. Again, all of the quotes to "close that internet up" are taken out of context. Much like everything he says. I don't know personally since I didn't watch the last rally. But everyone I asked said it was taken out of context and he meant to stop access to ISIS servers.
Illegal immigration:
Trump wants immigration. What he doesn't want is illegal immigration. Illegal immigration is a drain on our tax system, economy, and pretty much everything else. And the scary thing is that we don't know how many people actually are illegal immigrants. There are some estimates, but nobody knows how bad this is. What's even scarier is that if these illegals go to California, they can apply for a license. California does not check for US citizenship. If they have a license, they can vote just like US citizens. They can apply for benefits. They can do anything a citizen can. And if a police officer asks for ID, he'll just think that he's a US citizen.
We want immigration. We want people to come to the United States. But we want to be able to control immigration. We don't want people who come in to just sit around, unemployed, and stealing money from the tax payer. We have to be able to control for that or else we're not a proper country. If you want more information about this. Check out this video. www.youtube.com/watch?v=W6NYP9qmjfU
America needs reason, Donald Trump has about as much reasoning ability as the SJW bitches, he represents the end of what america once stood for, wanting to ban Muslims? calling people who believe in freedom of speech foolish? shutting down the internet, he wont make america great again he will make america disgrace itself again
yeah except he can't ban muslims. he can't do half the things he says. but he's gonna try. and he'll make america look strong. he's worth investing in. you see him as the end. i see him as a opportunity. not to make america great by his actions. but his actions will inspire actual action from the people. he's the right choice to save america
how on earth could he make it strong? by acting like an idiot? disgracing america on the world stage? going against everything this country has stood for? Donald Trump would make america look weak and make Americans look stupid
well we will in hilary. but the difference is hilary is believed to be good. trump is believed to be bad. having the sneaky enemy is worse than the blunt enemy
Seriously. He is the only reasonable one out there. Mostly pull out of the middle east, and let them sort themselves out. Focus on rebuilding infrastructure, and ensuring citizens get healthcare so a colonoscopy doesn't bankrupt you, and going to college won't leave you 100K in debt, at least.
