This may sound funny at first. but to me it's on the same level as cutting of someones hair because you hate their long hair

I kinda agree with you, though it's not a 1:1 comparison. It is indeed a really douchey thing to do...

Suppose it wasnt someones brother tho? like a stranger. someone who runs off with the key and never returns. now you have to cut that thing off. and youre not going to get very far with bolt cutters, not the ones you but at home depot any way. you have to cut that off with an angle grinder. which is LOUD. AS. ****. I work with steel, not in bike theft that sh its gonna be right next to his ear. not to mention rattling against his ear. So earplugs wont help. thats gonna be a miserable hearing damaging experience. hair can be grown back easily, hearing gets ruined for life.

A heavier padlock can damage the ears or even make them stretch so much they rip or "just" cause a nasty infection which may go away faster than short hair but is much more painful and dangerous. And as I said previously, it's their choice if they want to **** up their body. You don't go around ripping out piercings just because you don't like them.

So? they worked on it so it looks like how they want it and also my earring hurt when they were pierced but it doesn't mean it's okay to rip them out.

THIS JUST IN

Doing a simple, harmless prank such as putting a padlock through someones gauges is the same as ripping out piercings!

Seriously, you can hold the padlock up like the person in the content is doing until you get it unlocked so the "damage" and "stretching" of the ear argument is idiotic.

A friend of mine suggested bringing the key to a different padlock with you, and then tossing it one way and running the other way. What are they going to chase, you, or what they think is the key for their misery?

I don't think it's that funny. Ye, it's ugly but it's their choice and you wouldn't be happy for example if you wore a piece of clothing that YOU liked and someone ripped it off you just because they don't like it. It's their body to **** up, don't hurt them. I have 3 earring in each ear a lot of people don't like but that doesn't mean it's okay for them to rip them out.

No, I've seen people using power saws to cut the metal. Doing that extremely close to your face can burn you from the sparks given off, and of course cutting into the skin if the operator of the tool isn't careful.

I know I am just a cynical ass but I think if you are stupid enough to cut a lock off your ear with a powertool you should cut your jugular and never breed.

I mean....bolt cutter, sheesh.

how are they gunna get it off then? sure its a dumb idea, but if the person who attached it was random and they didnt give you the key your options are to cut it off or try to obtain a key for it. if there isnt enough space to put it in bolt cutters a power tool may be the only option.

Although I think this is a rather rude thing to do to someone, it does bring up the point that piercings (especially large loop-type piercings) can be a serious liability in a fight, or just in general. If you want to do it anyway go ahead, it's a free country and some piercings can look good if done in good taste. Just be prepared to have that **** get grabbed/padlocked/caught on a tree branch/etc...

Only pussies get these kinds of piercings. They would probably lie down in fetal position during a fight.
