THe Artist is Dave Rapoza and the character is Steven Lichman. He just released a kcikstarter to fund the original comic book idea!

Not really.

Its a long story but basically:

Skeletor attempted to assassinate his half brother to rule over Eternia. his army + attempt failed, so as a last resort he threw a vial of acid at him, The king deflected it back at skeletors face. So as his face began to melt his army took him and retreated. So he summoned his master and begged him to keep him alive. "For a price." His price was removing his skin off his head, deforming his body to be more "Demonic" and driving him somewhat insane.

Dam, man. thats pretty brutal. Honestly, the only lore bit i know is from the attempted remake they tried to do back in the 2000s. and all i remember from that is episode 1, and the badass episode where Orvo releases the freaking god of death.

Man when I first saw this comic I thought to myself what a cool concept this was. What happens when we live in a world where the humans are just as corrupted as the monsters they set out to slay?

Then I saw the other comics.. All they were was just a Monster Mash recreation of high school bulllying. The lich and and dracula get kicked around by the bigger monsters like the minotaur and ogres and crap.

Such an interesting concept, wasted on the artist's need to let out his teenage angst.

But that's just my opinion.

A word of advice, never assume that ideas in a comic like these are based around someone's life at all, a lot of the time the artist just goes with what people will find interesting at the time.
