Granted the girls were hot, but hot girls and guns don't cover the fact that the Main Character at one point actually said the line "This was never my story" When it was clearly all about her.

This movie isn't good for plot. "Crazy" girl who imagines herself a fantasy world and that somehow makes her dance so well she hypnotizes everyone? OK. No, this movie was about badass fights with hot girls vs. any weird combination of popular actions themes you could think of. And i ******* loved every second of it.

I'm addicted to story, so seeing one this bad hurt me in the inside. Similar to the Transformers series. Just fighting for not much reason doesn't do anything for me.

M8, I'm having a hard time watching anything for the story, because most stories are so incredibly unintelligent, but this movie was so ******* fantastic, not only because of the girls, but because of the giant minigun wearing samurai armor robots.

Sometimes, you just gotta go with how cool things are to watch.

Not exacly.
Not much space marines use shields.
If they are with a melee weapon they usually carry along a ranged weapon in their second hand like a bolt pistol or melta pistol.
The ones who do use a shield are usually used when attacking something like a fortification.
Then theres the terminators with thunder hammers who allways carry a shield for some reason.

If you are talking about IG most of the guys carry melee weaponry if there is a close combat situation otherwize they use ranged weaponry.
Most commonly a las pistol.
I have no idea why im explaining to you this but im bored as **** .
Bayonets and combar knifes dont really count as melee weaponry.

User avatar #102 to #88 - tinglyturtletaint (08/28/2014) [-]

True that.
User avatar #105 to #102 - lordgeneral (08/28/2014) [-]
technically the space marines don't need to train. or learn. every iota of knowledge their chapter has ever gotten can be downloaded into their brain
User avatar #111 to #105 - tinglyturtletaint (08/28/2014) [-]
Orks don't need to learn either. Oddboyz are born with an innate knowledge of their field of expertise i.e. Painboyz just automatically know how to stitch up injured orks, mekboyz just automatically know how to build stuff. Plus the stuff orks know doesn't even have to be true objectively to work. If a group of orks believes something, it might as well be correct while their around. They think yellow painted rockets explode bigger and red painted cars go faster, so they do. Hell, 99% of their technology shouldn't physically do anything at all and infact doesn't, if it's a non ork using it.

for the wargame you definitely are going to need models. Ebay is perfect if you're looking for prepainted, or you could give matt ward your soul buy them directly from Gamesworkshop. if there's not a store nearby, check your local comic or hobby shop. Or order online.

If you have a comic or hobby shop, you should be able to go in and play with some of the people who play there. Our community is pretty polite when it comes to teaching newbies

they have their own language that is absolutely perfect to suit their needs. they have a built in form of currency: Teef (their teeth) which grow back without much issue and degrade after a few days, meaning that no ork can stash them and acquire a vast fortune. One tooth is worth one mug of fungus beer (a fluid that lessers in their species produce). the only way an orc can make a profit is by knocking teef out in battle.
They're immune to all natural illnesses and poisons, are incredibly sturdy (you can cut two orcs heads off and swap them, they will be able to control the new body without issues).
Their hierarchy is completely and totally fueled by merit (ork warbosses are created when orks respect one ork. same with nobs and such. merit = respect = growth in strength and size, not to mention intelligence).
There are nich orc archetypes that are mentally engineered to fit a need. oddboyz are absolute geniuses - preprogrammed to be so. same with mekboyz (they develope things instinctiely)
so on and so forth.
they have a species-wide psychic ability called the psychic Waugh field: the more orks that believe something, the more reality is effected so it works in their favor (their ships are literally just pieces of metal and electronics hammered together)
User avatar #155 to #135 - exclamation (08/28/2014) [-]

I always found these quirks in Civ games fascinating. Like Roman centurions in the Industrial Age with strong metal shields and flintlock pistols marching through No Mans Land toward an enemy trench filled with English long-bowmen with explosive arrows and musketmen. Or what if Native Americans advanced far beyond their Eastern counterparts and invaded Feudal Europe, with powder and shot and llama. And imagine an Aztec rifleman with pre-Colombian motifs mixed in with regimental uniform from the 18th century. Or like the image above, a honor guard filled with knights devoted to traditional warfare and chivalry in a time motorized warfare as a last line of defense.

Its fun to pretend.

The DLC really fixes the game to almost near perfection. However just remember the AI is fickle as **** . They could be your friend one turn and declare war on you the next.
