Or at least once you make it into the boss fog

I got used to being safe after bosses in dark souls. Beat Duke's Dear Freja, no estus, hardly any health, made my way to the bonfire after, and I see this mother ****** . "There's no way they'd have an enemy after a main boss" I think to myself, "I'll just go and talk to him"

Big mistake
#6 to #5 - zukabazuka (07/24/2014) [-]
Dark soul? Correct.
Dark Soul 2? Actually you can invade someone who has beaten the boss. Its just not a priority for the game unless you are the only one alive at that area.
User avatar #7 to #6 - fatspartan (07/24/2014) [-]
That, and he could have beaten a secondary/optional boss like Smelter Demon or the Old Deagonslayer
User avatar #54 to #7 - instalation (07/24/2014) [-]
I want to know how the smelter demon is optional. I know if you get enough souls he is, but is there another reason he's optional?
User avatar #55 to #54 - fatspartan (07/24/2014) [-]
If you turn off the furnace in the center of the room pre-demon. There is a ladder inside the furnace that you can take that will lead you through an alternate path where all you haft to deal with (instead of the Smelter Demon) is a single Captain
User avatar #56 to #55 - instalation (07/24/2014) [-]
Holy **** . I never knew about this. Smelter isn't hard, just didn't know he was optional.
User avatar #57 to #56 - fatspartan (07/24/2014) [-]
Honestly, it's alot better to take on the Smelter Demon. The bypass goes by the Bonfire right past the demon. That and you miss the opportunity to take on the Pursuer for the Ring of Blades+1
User avatar #8 to #6 - angelious (07/24/2014) [-]
there is usually a bonfire right after the fight.and the area with the boss fight is non invadable
User avatar #20 to #8 - manofiron (07/24/2014) [-]
Again, this was true for Dark Souls. It's different in DS 2. I can confirm, that is possible for people to invade your world even after you've defeated the area boss.
User avatar #21 to #20 - angelious (07/24/2014) [-]
i said nothing about not being able to invade after defeating area boss

but the arena where you FIGHT the area boss.automatically stops people from invading you(except looking glass) and the area after that is usually either so near bonfire it would not matter OR its a non invadable area.

It's worth the bragging rights when you do it alone.
Trust me, I'm Dark Souls before the patch on the GWG version
User avatar #15 to #13 - sciencexplain (07/24/2014) [-]
I'm playing GWG but I think I got the patch. Before, there was no messages or bloodstains and I wanted to just cry, but the messages helped out a bit and I eventually got to beat the giant demon on the wall, met solaire, avoided the rat poisons and got to the mechanical bull and now I'm stuck. If you want, I don't mind playing co-op if you can get it to work. I tried to co-op earlier with the white soapstone, but it didn't show up for my friend, so I think it might be glitched or something. I dunno.
User avatar #16 to #15 - theugandanhero (07/24/2014) [-]
Well the patch came out like, a week or so after they released it on GWG so it gave me plenty of time to test myself and try honing my skills on there. And it sounds to me like you're a bit undecided on where you should be going on there, because the metal boar only appears in like two places and I'm almost positive that you're not near the Duke's Archives yet so the only place I'm thinking of now is probably somewhere by the Undead parish (which is completely the opposite direction of the sewers with the poisonous rats).
Also, I would be able to help you out if I hadn't already downloaded DS2 and Batman: Arkham City for my flash drives on the old Box but I'm sure I could make some room quick if you'd want to wait like an hour or so.
User avatar #17 to #16 - sciencexplain (07/24/2014) [-]
I can't play today, but if you want to play at some point, I can play. And yeah, I'm at the Undead Parish, but the rats were after the dragon breathes fire on the bridge when you go down the staircase. You kill them, get the bonfire and go up the ladder to where there's a longsword black knight and then the mech bull thing is there.
User avatar #18 to #17 - theugandanhero (07/24/2014) [-]
Oh yeah, that's right.
And sure I can arrange for that, but since todays my day off, you'd probably have to catch me really early in the morning or later on at around 9:30-10:00PM (Central Time)
User avatar #22 to #18 - sciencexplain (07/24/2014) [-]
Well I'm in London central GMT, so I don't know what times would be good, but I'll just add you and you can message me when you want.

User avatar #27 to #26 - theugandanhero (07/24/2014) [-]
Those are both actually quite entertaining ideas and you're safe if you didn't go human yet
User avatar #28 to #27 - sciencexplain (07/24/2014) [-]
I went human once just to see what happened and then realized it wasn't needed at that point, died and went hollow again. Why? Does that have repercussions?
User avatar #29 to #28 - theugandanhero (07/24/2014) [-]
Well for one, you're using up your precious humanity where it isn't needed, and it's really difficult to find unless you know where you can farm it for like 2-3 every five minutes but that's tedious and no one usually wants to do that unless they really, really have to.
Secondly, it makes it hard to get just about anywhere if you just stay human and get invaded everytime you start walking due to most PvP hotspot
User avatar #31 to #29 - sciencexplain (07/24/2014) [-]
Wait, so being human provokes invasion? Hmm... I didn't know that. But I used it once after the wall demon to prevent myself dying and having to go back, but that was the only time I put it to use so far.

I got infuriated, stopped, and picked it up today after a long break. It's frustrating as hell, I'll give it that. It took time to replay constantly for certain sections just to figure out a tactic. One piece of advice: Use plunging attacks for bosses. It really ******* damages them.

Deadpool once tried to have hulk kill him by turning him to paste. Banner saw through the trick at first, but when Banner found out that deadpool put kids in danger of a hulk he went hyper angry while in banner mode and obliterated deadpool. He survived.

1) Go to iron keep, summon a dark spirit.
2) Quickly jump to the floating rock.
3) Fire a spell or arrow as they jump across.
4) Profit.
5) Repeat for the pure melee invaders, much souls and many laughs had.

Ok, is it just me, or is this game seriously some of the hardest **** ? Like I am normally pretty good at all games ya know. But this...I can't do **** alone in Dark souls II. I did the first few bosses solo, after that Its quite rough. Do I just suck ass.....?

It's one of the hardest games that I know of, but after I beat the first one once I was pretty good at it and now in dark souls 2 I'm able to go through the game rarely dying.
