.....What if you're already dead, and what you're experiencing right now is the memory playback?

Jk, that would be preposterous.....right?

Watch "Walking Life", it'll reconfirm your suspicions...

By the theory of Relativity we are already dead - all points along the "time axis" exist including the past and future. It is only some part of our consciousness that science has not yet been able to explain that chooses to treat time as progressing.
#44 to #3 - wadawada (12/01/2013) [-]
This is actualy one theory of life after death, except it's more of a 0.5-1 seconds than 7 minutes. (Although that 1 second can feel like hundreds of years)
#30 to #3 - anon (12/01/2013) [-]
If that happens to be true and somebody figures out how to fast forward could you give a few hints on how to do it? I'm twenty one years into life and I still haven't been laid.
User avatar #51 to #3 - clechyl (12/01/2013) [-]
wait, so in dreams, time is streched.
So what if, after we die, the memory is played back. Now the memory played back also involves the memory being played back itself, so you dream of your dream, so it loops. That, friends, is the afterlife. We have solved it.
User avatar #58 to #3 - namesboo (12/01/2013) [-]
I think of this all the time, it terrifies me.
User avatar #69 to #3 - namnori (12/01/2013) [-]
It is preposterous because your brain doesn't remember tiny details so you wouldn't watch yourself typing a comment on funnyjunk during those 7 minutes because you simply have no memory of it.

From now on, every repost you notice could be an indication you've already died.
User avatar #4 to #3 - heartlessrobot (12/01/2013) [-]
It is, actually. This is all happening in the span of 7 minutes, we just aren't aware until it's over. Then at the end we start over.

Our life is on a constant loop. Everything else goes on while the dead people are living their life over and over and over infinitely without realizing it. At the end of every cycle they start over again, each time faster and faster but it passes at the same speed every time. Their actions are fated, they cannot change what they do, for they always do that. It is unavoidable. This, is what hell is. This is why when you do good it is considered heaven as you relive everything, and everything is good.

Death = when the heart stops.
When the heart stops no oxygenated blood gets pumped to the brain.
With its almost ridiculous energy consumption rate the brain can survive for tops 11 seconds without oxygenated blood.
The next person who starts spouting **** about seven minutes is getting hunted down an killed Taken style.

time doesnt matter when you die. Seconds can feel like an eternity. your brain releases a **** ton of DMT and youre basically tripping balls on the most powerful psycadelic substance known to mankind. So 11 seconds or 7 minutes, it doesnt matter itll feel like an eternity.
#10 to #8 - taurusguy (12/01/2013) [-]
Well no, there are 2 types of death, clinical and biological. Clinical means your heart has stopped but you can still be saved and live. Biological means you cant be revived. If you sustain clinical death you have 3-5 minutes before the victim gets brain damage. After the 5 or so minutes brain cells start to die and you will receive brain damage of some sort.
Next time try a bit harder when trying to make someone mad.

Under Law: a person is only announced dead if their brain dies

All a heart does is pump blood around the body -
-You can jump-start it back up via. deliberation or CPR etc.
-And you can put someone on a life support machine (which helps the heart pump blood around the body)

Not so easy with a brain...

Death is when your heart stops working, then you are dead and can not be saved.
Clinical death is a term used to describe the heart stopping for any reason. You can save a person at this point but it takes mere minutes to reach Brain Death

Oh no, dude, it's totes legit. Did you know that if you manage to expose their brain in those 7 minutes, you can even keep them alive by blowing on it really hard? It works because the brain is still getting oxygen. Of course, if you stop blowing on it, they still die, so you have to keep doing it until somebody can bring over a fan or something to do it for you.

2 is fake
3 is a hypothesis, there's no actual way (yet) to know what goes on in a person's mind.
And that time span is an approximation after the heart stops beating, other methods of death can make it much shorter.

Yeah you ARE wrong considering you missed the end of the article where it states

"The viral photo is now confirmed to have nothing to do with lightning. As fellow Scientific American blogger Glendon Mellow has uncovered, the original photo appears to come from an artist who specializes in making sandcastles. The viral photo is what happens when you make an interesting castle out of sand, not when lightning hits it."
