one thing I thought was pretty funny, there was a legendary master trainer for the mercantile skill, he even wrote a skill book for mercantile that has been in every TES game since, sells some of the best items that the player can buy... had less money than the mudcrab merchant.

**zeroqp rolled image**Why is this such a mystery to everyone? It's a RPG, a role playing game. You're supposed to use your imagination to explain why things are the way they are in the world. That's how you fill in the blanks.

The animals mighty carry coin because they found them washed up in a stream from someone who dropped them a long time ago, and ate them because they were shiny. Another plausible explanation is that the animals ate a dead person who was carrying coin, and accidently ended up eating that too.
