It's more of a question of morality. Because in the game the main character grew from a sheltered boy to a wild man, of sorts. And he could've easily stayed wild but you could've chosen to let them go and that's what it's getting at. Because as much as you're life has changed you can't forget you're past.
User avatar #426 to #394 - thepandaking (07/13/2014) [-]
a good point, I just thought it'd be more of a harder choice if in the end you lived with the island people as a king rather than getting sex-killed. otherwise a big part of the choices feel like choosing life or death, but I get the premise

User avatar #386 to #147 - welliguessitsaname ONLINE (07/13/2014) [-]
By "mistakes", he literally means "mistakes". Once you mess up and accidentally jerk a piece to the side or turn it at the last second or even put something where it shouldn't go, it's often hard to fix it. It's not uncommon to end up losing because you put a piece somewhere you didn't think about.

So speaking of Bravely Default, did anyone else find the endish part of the game dreadfully boring? The side quests sort of picked it up a bit, but I did not appreciate how many times I had to do the thing.
#324 to #5 - anon (07/13/2014) [-]
Yeah, there were probably too many repetitions. Some of the early ones in particular changed virtually nothing and really felt like chores more than anything. I liked the later worlds though. Totally cracked up at Victoria, Artemia, and Kikyo making a girl power club.
#29 to #5 - anon (07/12/2014) [-]
I haven't gotten through chapter 5 yet, even though I absolutely love the first part of the game. I know that it apparently picks at the end with boss fights (or so I've heard), and I plan to finish it, but man it gets tough to power through.
User avatar #35 to #5 - chuckbob ONLINE (07/12/2014) [-]
I really liked it, though repeating the same thing x times has never really bothered me. I think the best part about it though is that you can choose when to "end" it whenever you want. It felt neat denying Airy just out of curiosity and having it mean something
User avatar #45 to #5 - mion (07/12/2014) [-]
I think it was great up until chapter 5, where the game got REALLY repetative. I also didn't quite understand why you could suddenly change the name of you're cast although it made sense for Ringabell, who is actually Altis.

All in all I think that BD was one hell of a game and it was pretty enticing.

I was thrilled when I got to know that the Sequel will be released worldwide as well.
User avatar #57 to #5 - skyblueshinx (07/12/2014) [-]
The reason it repeats so many times is to give you the chance to get the "false" ending by destroying one of the crystals . If you stick through the repetition you get the "true" ending.
User avatar #328 to #57 - classiccolour ONLINE (07/13/2014) [-]
Yeah, I understood that once I got the true ending, but I feel like it didn't need to repeat itself as many times as it did. I mean for sure, the true ending makes up for it a bit.
User avatar #202 to #5 - nommonsterbaa (07/12/2014) [-]
The repetition got old pretty quick, but I thought the true ending was still pretty good, and the battle was great.
User avatar #240 to #5 - iridium ONLINE (07/13/2014) [-]
I just took the time to go to Florem Woods (or whatever its called), get the item that doubles EXP and JP and just max out jobs and level up lightning fast. The EXP cap I believe is 70,000 and there are so many ways to do ridiculous damage lategame.

Then I just went to redo all the subquests by ************ the bosses.

I actually liked the idea of what they did. It makes the ending have that much more punch to it. Seeing the way conversations play out differently was also interesting. I just wish they didn't do it as many times as they do. I didn't mind repeating it too much either, that said I still think it's a questionable design choice and wouldn't do it again.
User avatar #326 to #240 - classiccolour ONLINE (07/13/2014) [-]
Well by the time I hit the repetition stage, I was already maxed out on everything. Also there are some sick strategies in the game, I can't remember what it was, but i remember being a monk with dark knight abilities was incredibly overpowered.
