Real talk though, I did have a Woody toy, like, with plush body and plastic head and with a string you could pull and the whole thing, was my favourite toy for years! Ended up giving him yes he is a him, not an it to a polish orphanage with the rest of my toys when I grew up
The short Toy Story That Time Forgot actually delves somewhat into that idea. In it, Bonnie comes over to play with a neighbor's son after he has just opened all his Christmas presents. The family is apparently rich as **** , because he's gotten an entire line of these new Dinosaur toys as well as a new gaming console. Of course, he and Bonnie ignore the toys and go straight for the console.
No need to when you have logic. They do still have the possibility of making a very good film. but considering how this one (toy story 3) was made to be the closing chapter and how they keep eviving sequels for movies people don't want to see but can sell merchandise (ahem, cars) I think I can predict that it will be some recycled garbage story aimed to sell toys.
it's meant as a closing chapter for those who grew up with Toy Story 1 and 2. Toy Story 4 will be for the next generation (represented by the little girl in the same way you and I are represented by Andy).
I bet when you were a kid the thought never occured that pixar is just making this movie about toys directed towards children for the sole purpose of more money.
Why shouldn't there be another movie when the story can obviously continue?
He phrased it like a dick, but he's got a point.
Why not just play the Toy Story that already exists for your children? They don't need their own Toy Story.
I would think that it's because, while those movies are timeless, they were written specifically for that generation. Like a gift that is passed down from one generation to the next, but of course the one who gave it in the first place wants to continue giving. Each new generation is treated as a unique entity and, while they receive hand me downs which are still very nice, the creators want to give them something special and unique to them.
But it wasn't unique to our generation though... Nothing was specific to our time. Hell, without prior knowledge of when the movie was made, one could imagine it fell anywhere between 1992 and 2008.
The series was given a magnificent ending that brought tears to the eyes of grown ******* men... It should be done. If Pixar wants to make a movie for the new generation, then so be it. Every kid deserves a favorite cartoon movie. But do something new - don't just keep resurrecting the movies that worked before. It's not fair to the kids who grew up and got a happy ending, and it's not fair to the kids who are still young and haven't gotten their own iconic series.
I'm not saying it was specific to our time. I'm saying it was written for US. I feel like Toy Story 3 was a last little love note from the creators saying that while they loved our generation and they always will, they have to say goodbye and start making movies written for the next generation. It's not about time and place, but perspective. Like I said, it's a gift. Everyone can enjoy it, but it has a specific intended audience.
I just... I don't want to see it get all campy and run into the ground. Pixar is a great studio, but how many movies can you think of that seriously did well after the 3rd? Hell, most trilogies are insanely lucky to get as far as they do without ******* up...
Honestly, I'm not sure how well it would turn out. But I have high hopes. I have a lot of love for the Toy Story movies and I respect the idea of bringing it to the new generation. They just have to stay true to its essence without making it another movie for our generation. We've had our time to shine with Pixar.
I thought the Shrek series after Shrek 2 was a cashgrab, but then I watched the other movies and found myself liking them a lot.
I like the idea of Molly and seeing her play with the toys. There's cute, new characters that have a lot of potential judging from the last movie. I watched the shorts they made too and he colours look really bright and happy too. I bet theyre working really hard on producing the movie to make it look beautiful. Doesn't Pixar movies take 4 years to produce? By the way, a lot of good cartoons and movies are based solely for the merchandise. Ever heard of G.I Joe?
To be honest if they made a new one that'd probably be the way to do it. The story for Andy's toys went full circle, so it's best not to drag it on longer than it needs to be and ruin it all.
Or this to console fanboys i own a couple of consoles, i like it and i hate the rivalry but PC will always beat consoles, not because of graphics or anything, because we can fix the bugs in the game that the creators are too lazy to fix like game breaking bugs
Am I the only one who didn't like toy story 3? I'm honestly not trying to be a hipster or anything but I found the story to be rather lame and uninspired, and just felt like they were just trying to hard to pull at my heartstrings rather then make a decent flick. I grew up with the movies just like everyone else, Maybe I'm just being as jaded asshole I guess
I gave up on yms after It became clear he was going to dangle More twd reviews on a string and never deliver. But i might check out his video on this. Thanks
Then they're gonna **** it all up now by making Toy Story 4. There wasn't even supposed to be a Toy Story 3, but Disney said that if Pixar didn't make it, that Disney themselves would make it for them, and in order to save the franchise Pixar had to make Toy Story 3.
I don't give a **** what Pixar says about "Oh we wouldn't make one unless we had a REALLY good story to tell." **** that, they're just trying to save face on this and sugar coat it to make it seem like they're not doing it because Disney wants them to so they can make ******** of money.
Lol, im an adult so i only watch adult stuff like animu and mango, all you ****** nolifers who watch this kind of ****** cartoons like toy story 3 need to get out of your mother's basments and get a life. pls dont get within 30 feet of me you probably all smell like sweat and ****
Are you curious about how the story continues, or you want to keep seeing the movie series because it always makes you have a good time? Watch Toy story 4 when its released.
Want the story to end at Toy Story 3 because you believe the closure was pitch perfect and there is nothing else that needs to be added? Don't watch Toy Story 4 when it's released.
Use your ******* brains and follow the one that suits you instead of bitching about something just because it exists (or will exist). No one is forcing you at gunpoint to watch anything.
Saw this movie with my gf at the time... it was our last date before I moved away for college. The ending made her cry for like 10+ minutes. It was awkward.
