Compared to a lot of Hollywood guys Tom Cruise isn't even that short. Granted he's still a filthy manlet but so are the rest of them.

The average height is actually pretty low. It's a human psychological thing that you only notice/compare yourself to people who are better then you and since taller = better you only notice people taller then yourself. I used to be really self conscious about my height because of this but I'm actually about 4/5 inches above average for my country. In the Netherlands average male height is 5' 11" - 6', you guys are tall.

Imperial system , 12 inches in a foot , 3 feet in a yard , a metre is 39 + 3/8 inches , a foot of snow for us is roughly 30 cm so when the weather channel tells us 15cm of show is expected we know it's bout 6 inches . I'm 5'-9'' tall or 175.26 cm . Metric converters are installed on most computers sold in north America thank god for that .
