He didn't even take time to think about if he should do it or not.
He just took that gun the second he walked away and ended it. Damn.

User avatar #15 to #13 - historybuff ONLINE (11/11/2015) [-]
He did not die instantly according to the article. He died in a hospital. Though I'm willing to bet he was not cognizant
User avatar #47 to #15 - captanyonomus ONLINE (11/11/2015) [-]
IIRC often times people are only pronounced dead at the hospital even if they were dead well before hand, I find it kinda hard to believe that a bullet through the ear left the kid alive for more than a couple minutes at most.
User avatar #49 to #47 - phantomcancer ONLINE (11/11/2015) [-]
Well yea, there are only 3 situations in which non-medical personnel can declare people legally dead. If they are burnt beyond recognition, fully decpitated or decomposing. Lying motionless in a puddle of blood conveniently corresponding to the amount of blood in a person? Nope, gotta wait for the doc. Same with bullet holes in the head.
User avatar #52 to #49 - captanyonomus ONLINE (11/11/2015) [-]
That's what I was trying to get at, the fact that just because an article says he died at the hospital doesn't mean he arrived at the hospital alive at all. As it is rather common to find that articles misconstrue the physical moment of death with the announcement of death.

Really, I can answer this, I was there. you just basically have fantasized about doing it but are too pussy for cutting yourself or hanging yourself. A gun looks like a very valuable yet unreachable commodity. Not to mention you get to have your father (it's better if abusive) swallow his supposed authority and perhaps you get to have an effect on him and scar him with guilt or shame in front of others. The taunting was also too much of a Golden opportunity.

tl;dr on that level, this scenario would've looked like a God-sent gift

All these comments about people not knowing what a mental breakdown can look like.

The mom's thought are probably like this:

- (stands up) Omg he did he just really shot himself.
- (Probably sees blood or other confirmation of actual suicide) Falls to the ground probably yelling to herself 'This isnt happening, this isnt happening, im dreaming"
- Comes to the realisation that it actually happened and runs to her son, hoping he might survived it, taking away the gun out of fear for what the father or still living son might do with it.

Father's thoughts:

- Anger "It's not uncommon to be angry at someone for harming themself, hard to explain'
- Total *********** , mental breakdown.

If it's fake. It's played really convincing.
User avatar #63 to #55 - ronyx (11/11/2015) [-]
Except it's not fake, this happened about a month ago and the dad is a cop hence the gun.

The father wasn't angry with son for shooting himself. Many people have been saying that the father thought his son actually shot at him and just missed, realizing a second later what actually happened. It seems logical to me.
User avatar #78 to #67 - swiftarrow (11/11/2015) [-]
That's also plausible, i didnt think of that.
I was thinking the father first thoughts would be "How could you do that!?" before realising what actually happened.

#64 to #14 - selfdenyingbeggar (11/11/2015) [-]
Suicidal. Totally. I was there. Literally at that same point. you actually fantasize with such a perfect scenario like this. Loaded gun ready (painless/quick exit) parents (sort of) dared you to do it. In front of parents.
User avatar #173 to #64 - civilizedwasteland (11/12/2015) [-]
the perfect suicide, no guilt.
#48 - arialynx (11/11/2015) [-]
I can only assume that the guy was suicidal beforehand. Being confronted like this, being told to either shoot his father or give up probably the only thing that he enjoyed in life, it may have been what made him decide in that moment that life wasn't worth living anymore. How unstable would you have to be to grab that gun and pull the trigger on yourself as quickly as he did... I honestly can't fathom it.
#54 to #48 - selfdenyingbeggar (11/11/2015) [-]
It's the Golden Ticket for someone suicidal. I used to fantasize for scenarios like that. Signing off and hurting your parent in the process (actual demon parent, not someone you "hate" because they don't buy you an Iphone)

Strong intuition it's a thing. I know you wouldn't need to believe this. Oh, I'm sorry. i don't know if it helps, but they not getting divorced could be worse. Becomes very toxic.

I don't know if this will help you or if you will even believe it but I'm convinced this is the truth (as good as I can see it from my current perspective):

(introducing pure consciousness)
You are not your mind. You're not your body or the people you've met or the feelings you've experienced. You could take all of those away or change them, your life experiences, your sex, everything, but something would always remain. That is you. The consciousness that experiences. the eternal presence. It IS. It can't be broken or destroyed and it's already complete.

Example:
Imagine a camera, it can "look" but it doesn't "see". If you were to take a bit of your consciousness and put it in the camera, you'd be able to experience from the camera's perspective. Your brain is the camera.

Ok, so I don't know exactly how it happened or why or not much, but maybeeeee it went something like this:

There was pure consciousness being and then it became aware of itself. That is Prime Creator, it is an I. I AM. Prime Creator created other beings, It was still the same consciousness but experiencing different "levels" of itself. It created oversouls, which then created individual souls, one of which is now experiencing "physical life".

In truth, there's only One consciousness. It is you, me, the dogs, the plants, the birds, the trees, your mother. We're all having all experiences. We just have this illusion that we are separated for a moment and we don't remember anything before this life, perhaps to help with the illusion of being separate, to explore how that would be like.

The cool thing is, you're Source. You're the Creator. you can Create, in fact, you've been doing it your whole life but in an unconscious way. you created based on the mental programs of others. They used your creative abilities for their benefit. But YOU ARE EVERYTHING. You are everyone. Everyone you meet already loves you as much as they could love you, they just forget here on Earth, because of trauma and whatnot. You have the worth of existence itself, which is beyond valuing. you're the idea of value itself. You're loved and you can do it.

In the end, we're all alone in this and we're also all together in this, forever. Nobody walks alone and in you, everyone finds their home.

User avatar #171 to #169 - shaddyz (11/12/2015) [-]
i... need to think for a bit
#174 to #171 - selfdenyingbeggar (11/12/2015) [-]
if it doesn't help just toss it without a second thought. The point of this was to "show you" almost empirically about how you matter and are beautiful and loved and how even the experience of worthlessness was your creation.

You can take a piece of clay and mold it into a beautiful shape (harmony) or an ugly shape (disharmony) and if you understand that you're the creator, the "molder" /and also the mold) you can reshape what you've already created. I.e. your life is not fixed.

From this post alone to the one where a woman was sucked up under an escalator. I even vaguely remember a guy either being beheaded or throat slit and another being blown up. Not to mention the train/car crashes.
