The queen has always been the Queen, being the Queen is her life, so she chooses to do it as her own action to be nice.

Obama chose to be president, so public acts of kindness benefit him.
The Queen will remain the Queen even if she's not nice.

The Queen rules England in the same sense that someone says that they're ruled by their cat.

The President is the acting commander of the military and leader of the nation.

The President of a Constitutional Republic has to do far more than the Monarch of a Constitutional Monarchy. The President has no time to go on vacation or **** around. He must be a leader and sacrifice his leisure for the good of the nation, which a small sacrifice to make. He hasn't even been able to do that.

I don't even want to delete this because of the thumbs.. I just want to delete it to get people to stop replying to it.

And you can see below that I still would choose Obama over Romney (Even though I voted for Gary Johnson, cause **** the 2 choice system).

They never taught us anything about the queen and her political standing, nor have I bothered researching it because I'm just not interested (I like reading more about warlords like Genghis).
My point: Obama should be able to interact with people, too. Sure, he's a president, but all over the years I heard nothing but "The president doesn't go out in public or actually interacts with his people" when everyone else was president as I grew up, and now that it happens people just give nothing but rage. Here's a little tip:
You're not going to be happy with the president, no matter what he does. He can solve mother ******* world hunger and you'd still be pissed, and for a really ****** reason: Because you need someone to blame everything on. You won't even see the real effects of his presidency until 5-10 years later, anyways.

I personally, LIKE the fact that the president goes out and actually interacts with his people. A president should not be hold up in the white house fearing for his life. He should be able to go out and enjoy the country that he's running. Talking with people gives him a better idea of what it's like. You think a guy like that ever really experienced a hard life that most of the younger generation has to go through? Hell no. I read up on his past and I can tell you it looks anything but rough.

Yes, he does but what both the Queen and the President have in common is that they both serve as head of state, which means presiding over events and making strides in public relations. In the UK, responsibilities are split between the PM and Queen (with the PM having many more). In the US, the President has many different roles, which includes, yes, attending weddings and making friends with the citizenry of the nation.
User avatar #57 to #37 - snowshark (04/10/2014) [-]
The only things the Queen has left in terms of power are... well, she can dissolve parliament and declare war. She is head of state as default but she takes part in basically none of the business. She just gets to live a life of privilege, worship, and plenty whilst being allowed to look down on anyone she wants. However she doesn't because she's just a nice old lady with a sense of humour and no ***** to give about **** she's not interested in. The number of publicity stunts she's made to do where she just frowns like she's sucking on a lemon... it's just hilarious. This one time she visited the BBC and they set up a band for her to listen to and she didn't give a **** . She clapped once and left.

The Queen in that picture who looks nothing like the Danish Queen, aside from the fact that they're both old ladies? The Queen who, throughout most of the western world, and the majority of internet-users, is referred to as just 'The Queen'? the Queen who was referred to as 'The Queen' and not 'The Danish Queen' for the very reason that she is the most widely recognised Queen? She's is arguable the most recognized face in the world, she's been the Queen for 62 YEARS! every person in Europe recognizes her, as does most of the world. Additionally gazmus is obviously from a country with a Queen given they said "Our Queen" so they would be able to recognize their own queen and if it is not her the next logical guess would be the most famous Queen alive, aka Queen Elizabeth II. Additionally Queen Elizabeth is the only Monarch that is nearly universally called "The Queen' due to her extreme fame, every other monarch is called the "King of Norway" or "Queen of Denmark" outside of their respective country. There are currently 44 countries that have recognized monarchs for 16 of them it is Queen Elizabeth. Well I understand they not be intricately aware of the monarchies of the world they should still be aware of the basic happenings of the world. This is obviously Elizabeth II and is commonly just called "The Queen"

<-google images if you search "The Queen"

you'd be surprised but whole world (or most of it, who dont have a monarchy system) refer Elizabeth II as The queen because in the old days, she had well not her but before her lots of land on her hands. If you know history you know what im talking about.

Its just common sense but thats like having spider sense this days.
User avatar #126 to #125 - abstractpink (04/10/2014) [-]
I agree and acknowledge that she has had quite the amount of land, and as such I understand and comprehend the fact that many countries refer to her as "the queen", but that does not justify insulting an individual for not realizing this. He might be Scandinavian, or North European in general which will result in his country most likely have been Danish territory, and not British, therefore making it more sensible referring to the Danish queen as "the queen" and thus confusion would occur. Instead of insulting an ignorant person, thy should help him through his ignorance.
User avatar #135 to #126 - potrsr (04/10/2014) [-]
i did said countries who dont have monarchy system will call her that thus it was imply countries with monarchy system will not call her as ''the queen'' but rather british queen. My country was never part of British empire and here we call her as The queen for any other we say (name of the country) queen. I know how other queens and kings look, for princes and princesses not so but it usually says from where are they.

actually... they live off their family wealth and are required to donate a certain amount per year to charity. The Royal Family owns a large portion of land in the UK and all the colonies, and the money they get from rent is HUGE. But they also pay taxes on it and are required to donate something like 80% of the profit to charity or for schools or tax breaks or something.
#21 to #16 - anon (04/10/2014) [-]
Erm Actually the royal estates are in profit and all the money they make goes into government causing everybody in the uk to receive a tax subsidy of about 20p, then you have the fact that they can be used as super ambassadors and that they bring in masses of revenue through tourism and that they're a bastion of pomp, ceremony and culture. The stormy weather of England brews as a dramatic sign that her time is ending after her many, many, many -_ many_ - years of ruling over us. When that time comes, each and every subject will raise their ceremonial teaspoons in the air, as a tribute to the passing of her jolly good soul.

#163 to #155 - anon (04/10/2014) [-]
Its hard to separate the Royal Family and the Castles they live in, they are intricately intertwined. People go to see Buckingham Palace because that's where the Queen/King lives equally as much as they visit for its historic significance. There is a certain aura around the idea of a King or Queen that simply intrigues people. Perhaps it is the romanticized idea of medieval royalty or simply the general concept of royalty, but the fact is that without the royal family these castles are nothing more than historical structure. England has plenty of amazing castles but those with Royalty living there for whatever reason are "extra amazing" and thus bring in a majority of the revenue.

Here is a an American Example. People visit the white house b/c its where the president lives. Without the president its just a fascinating historical site nothing more, and would attract a fraction of the visitors it does now.
User avatar #157 to #155 - anonymoose (04/10/2014) [-]
