A dwarf warrior has thick, rough bodyhair like chainmail, but a dwarf lover has soft, inviting bodyhair, like a bed of warm rose petals. Gimli can be both.

Don't get me wrong, LOTR had some fantastic feel worthy moments in it but the first hobbit movie brought a golden tear to my eye more times than LOTR did.

Example: Final scenes of The Hobbit
Bilbo: "Look I know you've doubted me, I know you always have. And you're right I often think of Bag-end. I miss my books, and my garden, and my armchair. See that's where I belong, that's home. And that's why I came back, because...you don't have one...a home. It was taken from you....But I'll help you take it back if I can."

I ******* LOVE THIS SCENE
I love it because Bilbo just shows that even though the Dwarfs didn't accept him right away hes still willing to put his life on the line to help them reclaim their stolen home. And the dwarfs gain a whole new level of respect for Bilbo and not only his character but also his morals.

ANOTHER FEEL WORTH SCENE
Gandalf: "true courage, is not knowing how to take a life, but when to spare one."
This line was amazing because it can be applied in real life as well. And when Bilbo is faced with the opportunity to kill Golum underneath the goblin kings lair. He remembers Gandalf's wise words and realizes that hes better than being a hateful murderer. And spares Golum's life because he feels bad for him.

FINAL SCENE
When Gandalf is talking with Lady Giladriel at Rivendale, he says
Lady Giladriel: "Mythrandir, why the halfling?"
Galdalf: "Sauroman believes it is only great power that can hold evil in check, But that is not what I have found. I have found It is...the small things. Everyday deeds by ordinary folk that keeps the darkness at bay. Simple acts of kindness and love. Why? Bilbo baggins you ask? Perhaps it is because I am afraid, and he gives me courage."
I love this one because its provides such a strong connection to Bilbo's effect on people and again, can be applied to a real life scenario.

If you read, I appreciate your time

easily able to quote cause Ive seen it about 100 times haha

The moment in the movie in which the Dwarves sit in front of the fire to sing their song, that is one of my favorite scenes out of any I've seen.
Coming off of the scene in the dining room, the ridiculous, ostentatious party, to such a deep and emotional poetic motif of who the dwarves truly were, spoke beyond the volumes I thought could have been portrayed. The Hobbit was truly a great movie. That scene represents everything good the series does and will have as it progresses.

I saw LOTR when I was maybe 7 or 8, and I still like parts of the Hobbit more. I liked Bilbo more than most of the previous cast combined, and it was great being able to see Gandalf again. I loved seeing Galadriel halfway through the film because of all the nostalgia, even though I barely remembered her in the first few movies on my first watch.

Bilbo was just so damn likable, and no offense to Elijah Wood (who I was psyched to see at the beginning of the movie), but he's just so well-rounded and easy to relate to.

There were so many moments in the movie that made it more enjoyable than LOTR, probably because it was more of an adventure rather a war story. "That's What Bilbo Baggins Hates", the Mountain Song, seeing Rivendell and Elrond, hearing Balin saying that he'd follow Thorin as his King, the ******* Necromancer, etc.
My absolute favorite scene in the movie was after they escaped Azog and the other orcs, and it looks like Thorin's about to rip Bilbo a new one, but then he breaks down and hugs him and tells him that he's never been more wrong about anyone in his life.

I really liked that movie.

I think my favorite scene is at the end, after the eagles let them down.

Thorin: You! What were you doing? You nearly got yourself killed! Did I not say that you would be a burden? That you would not survive in the wild? That you had no place amongst us? I have never been so wrong in all my life.

The way it is said, the expressions they both have (Thorin and Bilbo - or rather, Richard Armitage and Martin Freeman) is superb, the low musical fits so well as well.

My apologies if the quote is a bit wrong, just writing from memory, been a wee while since I saw the movie.

Yes, I think that was just a Skyrim thing. The dwarves were apparently a race of elves that lived underground. And I think that they were only called dwarves by the giants.(And obviously the dwarves would be small in a giant's eyes)

... That's wrong in two ways. Dwarves and elves are completely different in Tolkien lore, and in Skyrim the Dwemer (Dwarves), simply took the snow elves as their slaves, so they're also seperate

No, they're both elves. Or at least, mer. Same with the orcs, who are the Osmer I believe. Mer is pretty much the same as elf in the Elder Scrolls universe.

No, Elder scrolls separate every race into 2 separate sections, Mer and humans. Token however has them as many different races however orcs and elfs are one in the same. Token is just slightly less confusing than D&D which is on **** you levels of separation.

Actually, there are some accounts that dark elves and dwarves were different things in Norse mythology. I have heard it both as two groups; light elves (elves) and dark elves (dwarves), or three separate groups; the alf (light elves), the svartalf (dark elves), and dwarves (I think they said dvargur, but I can't remember the name it said for dwarves).
