not gonna lie, what Sperit said is true. Upbringing for sure, if you are raised in a ****** neighborhood, have parents that don't give a **** about you or abuses you, you more likely to be having a bit of trouble later in life.
In terms of genetics, it has been proven that a second set of genetics that is imprintable through generations with methylation of CpG in key translation areas of the genome. Pretty much the theory on why twins that are identical to each other a birth can grow up to be so different. A a study shown mice who are fed high fat diet and become obese are more likely to have obese children compared to other mice even when the children are fed a normal diet.
Search up epigenetics in google scholar, pretty neat stuff.
