Simply killing an animal for food is not animal cruelty, it's observed day after day in nature. If the animals are in **** conditions, then sure, animal cruelty. And I will admit that there are slaughterhouses that don't reach the standard of "humane treatment" that we should/need to demand, but that doesn't mean we should just stop buying and consuming meat altogether

Organic free-range , still go to the same slaughterhouses as factory farmed animals.

You do not need to eat meat. So an animal lived and died for your selfish behaviour.

We choose to harvest animals because we are following our place in the evolutionary food chain. We ate meat since before the agricultural evolution and we haven't stopped since. We're omnivores, plain and simple. We need meat and plants, and I'm not going to stop eating meat because some animals get hurt. Of course animals get hurt, that's kind of what eating meat's about. Animals get hurt when a lion catches a gazelle. Animals get hurt when a deer happens on the chance for an easy catch (www.youtube.com/watch?v=sQOQdBLHrLk#t=54). Why should we ignore nature simply because we're a bit squeamish?

Sure there is. Iron. Magnesium. Zinc. Selenium. That and far more come from meat products. The idea that "There is not one single vitamin or mineral needed from meat" is ******** .

Eating a mix of meat and plant matter is far more natural than an all-vegetarian diet, as far as evolutionary development is concerned. Likewise, eating a mix is far more natural than an all meat diet. The simple act of killing an animal for food is not a matter of "animal cruelty". How we treat it before and leading up to the killing is.

None of the mentioned minerals are exclusive to meat.

Meat is unhealthy. It is fact.

It causes heart disease, diabetes and cancer.

What difference does it make what you think is 'natural' when it is scientifically proven to cause disease?

It has no place in a healthy diet.

Killing an animal for no reason other than taste, is extremely unethical.
You do not need to eat meat, you would be healthier without it.

Meat is not "unhealthy" if it provides a fair amount of our health needs, which it does. And sure, excessive amounts of meat can cause disease. Excessive amounts of anything can cause problems, however. That's why we do (or at least, we're supposed to do) everything in moderation. I don't kill animals just for the taste, I do it because it fulfills my dietary needs in a way that suits me. The taste is just a nice bonus. So forgive me if I seem callous for not caring that a chicken died so I could have food on my table.

Meat is unhealthy.
A moderate amount is none at all.
You are not meeting your nutritional needs, you are eating the corpse of an animal because you are conditioned to enjoy it.
Meat causes inflammation and lipemia within minutes of you eating it. It lowers the quality of your life on a day to day basis, not just when you inevitably develop heart disease.

Lipemia is not caused specifically by meat. It's caused by meals containing large amounts of fat, which can occur with plants and meat. Lean meats avoid this issue

I don't eat it because I'm "conditioned" to enjoy it, I eat it because it meets my dietary needs in a way that suits me.

I suggest you pay attention to the resources I have provided.

Lean meat is high in fat.
The capability of a vegan diet to reverse heart disease and diabetes is based on its low fat content.
Meat, eggs, dairy are all very high in fat.

You are not meeting your nutrional needs when you are eating saturated fat and high cholesterol foods that contain pathogenic bacteria.

You are hurting yourself and animals.

Understand why people behave the way they do and dont play the victim.

Heart disease is the number 1 killer in the western world.
It can and will happen to you if you continue to include animal products in your diet.
