This is the spawn of the Minecraft server 2b2t. It's basically an anarchy server, with literally no rules. There are no moderators but the owner. You can do pretty much do everything. You can grief, you can build, you can hack.

2b2t has been up since 2010. Since then, many people have come and gone to this server. The most iconic part of the server is it's spawn.

Spawn is an apocalyptic wasteland of cobblestone, giant structures, swastikas, and lava everywhere. It is by far the most dangerous place in the server. Diamond clad spawnkillers roam, hunting down any "newfags" they can find. Even getting out of spawn without starving is extremely difficult. One wrong step and you can fall all the way to bedrock.

2b2t is mostly populated by people from 4chan. Chat is a racist, bigoted, anti-semitic mess where anyone can say anything as they please. But despite all this, 2b2t in some places is like a piece of corn in a pile of . Despite all the anarchy, 2b2t is a relic. It's a server with a history, with a community (no matter how ** up it is). It's a server without rules.

The thing is the server itself had anti hacking tools installed on it so flying was not feasible, let alone moving faster than what was allowed. The owner allowed hacking, but don't expect anything other than X-ray and a mini map to see nearby players to work. I couldn't even get the 'auto step' hack to work properly.

I used to play on the server for a few weeks, made it out of the spawn area because there was (at least when I played) a sacred location between 1000-2000 blocks from center spawn where a bed and melons were. Anyone who had knowledge of this location would always be sure to leave food behind for others, and the general consensus was not to mess with that location. It's also not uncommon for a person who built 50,000~500,000 blocks from spawn to have their base raided or completely demolished with TNT and coated in symbols. Heck, even someone who built at exactly (-/+?)1,000,000x, (-/+?)1,000,000z had their fortress broken into and the raiders used the owner's own TNT to blow it all up.

The "archaic" destruction shown in the images above reached into the 5,000 or so block radius with no tree in sight. Not even grass. There are nether portals at spawn, but stepping into one often lead to swift death. (Portal surrounded by lava anyone?)

I remember it being noted on the webpage that the server size is well into the gigabytes in size due to how explored and griefed it is.

I'm scared to log into that server now, I know my base has likely been found since then.

Now for the question, why did I stop playing? (I stopped playing it because something had gone horribly wrong with the server files. They put everyone on a new map while they looked into fixing it. At that point I had found the modding community and got into modding MC instead.)

Oh righhht... Now I remember. Spawn had several withers at the bottom of the world at bedrock destroying everything down there. People would summon and leave them there. Someone even nicknamed one somehow..

It made finding diamonds near spawn that much harder, even with xray.

2b2t veteran here.

First off, we are not all "hackers". The thing is 2b2t have/had some coders through its history. They made their own hacked clients (like nodus or wurst) and some of them even backdoored the server (twice) through a plugin installed on it.

2b2t is not about hacking, its about anarchy. The people that backdoored the server NEVER WERE PUNISHED, so you understand what I am talking about. There are no rules or consequences here.

The history of the server is also another interesting point. The server was raided in the past by other forums and websites and most of the organized raids failed terrible. Facepunch, reddit, ign... Facepunch tried to make a republic inside the server, which was sabotaged over and over again. You can check the whole history of the server in jamesrustles.com and the facepunch outcome

Despite all the chaos and anarchy, the server changed a bit. In resume, things are less chaotic now than they use to be back in 2011. In fact in the last two years we had the biggest 2b2t group rising and the spawn incursions that portrayed the players unity. For the first time in 4 years, 2b2t is starting to have something that resembles a community. So yeah, its more than just autistic people doing autistic things. In fact here is a video of some of the most legendary cities and bases of the server. All of them were group bases

In 2015 we are having a huge boost of new players coming from Vice, Reddit and finally Funny Junk. Which means you guys are already part of the server history one way or another. Its up to you all now to decide if you want to remembered as the defeated or the victorious.

The Spawn killers are always 2b2t vets aka oldfags. They have maximized enchanted armor, swords, bows and stacks of enchanted golden apples. That makes them practically imortal to any naked new players. You could have 100 players punching and he would be able to kill all of you. And if his armor broke, he would just use the second set on his inventory (which would be instantly replaced thanks to hacked clients).

You see, minecraft dupe glitches allowed players on the server to have huge stashes of goodies. A practically infinite supply for war. There are a lot of them spread and hidden across the server. Finding one is like winning the lotto.

So the best strategy is getting out of spawn and set a place for your people to meet. A safe and distant place. And perhaps wait for a dupe to happen, so you and your 60s can get to the same level as the "oldfags". Otherwise, you won't stand a chance.
