So I was single now, for the first time in years. I missed her so much, but there was nothing I could, I didn't want to hurt her. I kept myself busy, working and spending time with Jack, Mark, and Matt. Mary didn't really have any friends, all she had was me. She was a total reclusive introvert so she had no one to talk to, and none of us heard from her. 4 or 5 months pass when I get a call at 3 in the morning. It's Mary. She had a nightmare that I was brutally murdered (great call to get at 3am in a thunderstorm I tell ya) we ended up talking for hours on the phone, and she agreed to come over to help me babysit my 2 little brothers. Friday finally rolled around and she came over, it was like she never left. No words needed to be exchanged, we were instantly glued to each other. We babysat the brats for a few hours, then took off to see a movie and have dinner. We had a great night. I'm not even really sure when we got back together, but we were, and I was happy. Things were fantastic. Another year passed and my god I was head over heels for this girl, I wanted to marry her. So I proposed. Nothing super fancy, took her out for a picnic in the rain, was a great time and she said yes. We were engaged. We had made preparations for the wedding, sent invites out, got everything sorted out,
******************************** . We had everything planned out by mid June, around this time last year. The next few weeks she started acting strangely, not sure what was up. Asked her about it and she said it was nothing, so I left it alone. Figured it was cold feet, but it would pass. It's mid August now, and the wedding is 8months away. I had spent the night with her while we were looking for an apartment of our own, I kissed her, told her I loved her and that I'd call her tonight when I was done work. She kissed me and said she loved me back. This was the last I heard from her in weeks. She wouldn't answer her phone, wouldn't answer her door, her mom tried to get her to call me but she wouldn't. Wtf was going on? Her mom meets with me and gives me a key, says to just go in. So I do, as soon as she sees me she turns around and tells me to go. It's over. Leave and don't talk to her ever again. She never gave me a real reason, and to this day I still don't know it. But that was it, it was over. I called the wedding off. I wish I could say my hard times ended here, but they only got far worse.
