What I was trying to get at was this.

A person's opinion is worthless. But those kinds of people's opinions are worth less than worthless. Kind of like a negative opinion, it hurts there side/belief just by existing.

So now that I have said that, what I choose to say next may be credible but disregarded.
An opinion has true weight if its based on demonstratable experience, reason or logic, a credible source with citation. While you can still have opinions without the before-mentioned stuff, opinions that are based on objective truth are by far the strongest because they are the hardest to refute.

Now when I said I like mlp, that is an opinion that is not based on provable experience, reason, or a credible source. It is a personal opinion that only pertains to me, therefore I cant say that its the "best show, omg, watch it, if you dont youre an idiot" etc, because it is a matter of taste that is not based on an objective truth. I will say the show gets a lot of negative flak from people who have preconceptions about it and refuse to give it a non-biased try. But it is not something that you can reason or argue with someone as being any more valid than their opinion whether or not they have preconceptions about the topic.
