Life for the average American:

>need job
>can't get to job
>need car
>go to car dealership
>'anon you don't make enough money. i can't approve you. get a loan'
>need a loan
>go to bank
>'anon you don't make enough money. i can't approve you. get a job'
>wut

Democrats: You're right. We should have a system that makes it easier for the common American to get a car.
Republicans: Why don't you just find another way to work? Taxes pay for public transportation for a reason.
User avatar #79 to #14 - mistafishy (07/30/2014) [-]
I don't know what everyone keeps talking about when they say there are no jobs. I had three at the same time during the spring. Three.

Wut

Do you think the government should pay for your car, or just give you money because you can't get a job (you do have welfare, don't you?)? Because the people in this scenario who does have jobs, the bankers and the car salesmen sure as hell just can give you anything without getting paid. If so they would've been without a job as well.

And if you give the fact that you don't have a car the blame for you not having a job you're just not flexible.
#88 to #14 - philosophyxplain (07/30/2014) [-]
That's noy at all how it works, and definitely not for the average American.

User avatar #99 to #41 - heartlessrobot ONLINE (07/30/2014) [-]
If it came down to it, you'd have to either move or find a closer job. Don't complain when YOU have to compromise to get a job, don't expect employers to pack up their business and move closer to you.
User avatar #100 to #99 - littleliz (07/30/2014) [-]
my argument was that its to far to walk not that its to far. and another thing, people just dont get up and move it doesnt work that way. many things prevent us from moving and you dont just drop all that just because you cant walk to work
User avatar #101 to #100 - heartlessrobot ONLINE (07/30/2014) [-]
I said "if it came down to it", meaning you have no means of transportation. No car, buses don't stop around there, and there's no local taxi service, and you need to get to your work.
User avatar #102 to #101 - littleliz (07/30/2014) [-]

Unless you buy from an individual and not a dealership, you would still need a credit check/enough money. You can't buy from an individual if you don't have any money.

I'm not saying you're wrong. It's just not that simple.

User avatar #63 - smokingman (07/30/2014) [-]
Kinda O-T:
I didn't ever get the whole "asians are smart" thing.
They aren't, not any more than any other "race".
It's the attitude that is different, and that attitude isn't exclusive to asian people.

I come from Moldova, which is the poorest country in Europe (we'll soon be in the EU though, I hope), as well as one of the smallest.

Me and my school companions were pushed to the limit, during classes.
We studied like madmen, we raced to have the highest grade.
And we weren't called nerdy, we weren't considered social rejects.
I was the second best student in my class, and I was popular (with girls, too) because of it.

USA and Western EU don't have this kind of culture anymore, and that's the issue, IMHO.
Yeah, there are still plenty of top-level people, but the average studen't doesn't look up to being the best, and that's the issue,
User avatar #74 to #63 - jacktheripperftw (07/30/2014) [-]
studying like a "mad man" has very distinguishing meaning in Asia I think... whatever it is, I'm sure European mad studying is different. Think about it. In Japan, their high school math is university math in europe. Educational system is different from core.
So basically, **** off.
User avatar #77 to #74 - smokingman (07/30/2014) [-]
www.maa.org/sites/default/files/pdf/programs/JUEEDocument.pdf

Here's a sample of your average Japanese university entrance exam.
Mind you, these aren't math faculty exams, so they apply better to the general populace.
I can do this stuff, or at least most of it. I'm bad at mathematics, too.
The average italian highschool graduate can do these.
User avatar #75 to #74 - smokingman (07/30/2014) [-]
