So, could the Sith species potentially be Jedi?
User avatar #2 to #1 - huntergriff ONLINE (04/01/2014) [-]
theoretically, yes.
#29 to #1 - angelusprimus (04/01/2014) [-]
Yes. And before the dark jedi took over Sith species and turned them into a dark species there were a few Sith heroes.
Sek'nos Rath was a Sith Je'daii, a hero and a champion in war against dark side Rakata.
But after the Republic massacred Sith after the Great Hyperspace war, few remaining Sith hate Jedi with a passion, so its not likely one would join.
#33 to #29 - anon (04/01/2014) [-]
A Sith Pureblood by the name of Scourge served as a Sith Lord and the Emperor's Wrath (prior to that title being claimed by Darth Baras' apprentice) for over 300 years after having been made immortal, and has a history of betraying the Empire. Most notably when he allied himself with Meetra Surik and Revan (during one of the times that he decided he didn't feel like being a Sith Lord), but he then betrayed them as well and went back to the Emperor only to betray him again when the Hero of Tython came along.

Following the appearance of the Hero of Tython, Scourge defected from the Empire and worked with the Republic and Jedi Council to help destroy the Emperor. He was never technically a Jedi, as he remained a practitioner of the Dark Side and therefore remained a Sith, but he was plenty willing to join the Republic to destroy the resurgent Sith Empire following the Great Hyperspace War.
User avatar #63 to #29 - drldrl (04/02/2014) [-]
Je'daii =/= Jedi
The first practiced both light and dark teachings, as they needed to balance the world of Tython to survive. So technically, they are not Jedi.

Who the **** thought it would be a great idea to exhile dark Jedi to an inhabited planet?

I would have loved to hear the conversation about how that played out...

"Sir, aren't you scared that by sending the Dark Jedi there, they might enslave the planet's race, and use them to further spread their dark ideology and power?

"Nah... I'm sure it will be fine"

well considering the fact that most dark jedi are douche bags, i doubt they gave a **** .
User avatar #58 to #50 - serlucane (04/02/2014) [-]
The Jedi seem to have a trend of being bigger douchebags at times it seems... Espically in the early years of the republic.
User avatar #84 to #58 - huntergriff ONLINE (04/02/2014) [-]
and they are. they act like this at least until luke's new jedi order.
User avatar #129 to #58 - schneidend (04/02/2014) [-]
The Galaxy goes in cycles, and part of this cycle is that the Jedi eventually become too powerful and their leadership loses sight of what their order is supposed to be about.
User avatar #52 to #46 - huntergriff ONLINE (04/02/2014) [-]
and if i'm right, i'm pretty sure no one thought korriban was inhabited at the time.
User avatar #59 to #52 - serlucane (04/02/2014) [-]
They knew it was inhabited, because the Sith race had earlier driven off Killik colonists from their planet. Prior to the Dark Jedi being exiled there.
User avatar #88 to #59 - huntergriff ONLINE (04/02/2014) [-]
well, then **** ...I guess the jedi didn't give a **** .
#130 to #46 - rundas (04/02/2014) [-]
They weren't exiled to a planet, they were kicked out of Jedi-aligned or Republic space and were forced to flee to the Outer Rim. That's actually how most exiles go. If you're exiled to a specific place, that's more like imprisonment.
User avatar #98 to #46 - senseiweasel (04/02/2014) [-]
They weren't exiled specifically to Korriban, they were loaded onto a transport and escorted to the edge of charted space, where they were forced to make an uncharted hyperspace jump into the Unknown Regions. Once there they found their way to Korriban themselves, likely led there by the strong presence in the force of the native population

well...what do you think about the whole ewoks tv show? also the two live action made for tv movies?
#118 to #113 - starwarsexplain (04/02/2014) [-]
They, along with most other Ewok things, were blatant marketing ploys to sell more toys.

The cartoons were silly, but the two live-action movies were kind of cool, you got to see a story in the Star Wars universe that wasn't following special specific characters.

I also like that it introduced the Gorax, which is cool.

I've always liked that Star Wars mixed science fiction and fantasy, and the Ewok films kind of re-enforced the fantasy aspect. And I really liked them as a kid so I haven't got anything bad to say about it.

#104 - terinthaal (04/02/2014) [-]
Slight correction. The sith were not enslaved/killed off by the dark jedi. When the Exiles arrived on korriban, their master of the Force made the native Sith believe they were gods/demigods. The Exiles used this to take over Korriban, ruling over the natives. Over time, the Exiles (now the Dark Lords of the Sith) had found a way to use Sith alchemy and sorcery to allow crossbreeding with the natives. Over time the original Sith species died off, those known as Purebloods are simply half-breed descendants with enough of the original sith genetics in them to make it visible.

wait, so the sith are extinct and the dark jedi just called themselves Sith after they killed all the sith?
User avatar #15 to #14 - huntergriff ONLINE (04/01/2014) [-]
basically.
#30 to #14 - angelusprimus (04/01/2014) [-]
Not quite.
Dark Jedi that took over the Sith species call themselves Dark Lords of the Sith, or Sith Lords. Sith is just a short for it.
To the Sith Lords its important to show that they have an unbroken line down to the Sith Empire. To them its the Lord part that is important, not the Sith part.
Also Sith are not dark jedi. Dark jedi is simply a Jedi that has fallen to the dark side. Sith have their own set of beliefs, abilities, dark side alchemy and most importantly a Code, that separate them from ordinary dark jedi. They are massively more powerful.

Just a stupid geek point.
Sith could interbreed with humans, that makes them near-human not humanoid species in the Star Wars classificiation.
