Yeah, it's pretty decent, though I don't like harems and some of it felt a little too generic.
#84 to #82 - smokekusheveryday (12/12/2013) [-]
ahh but the harem part is what makes it a tad more promising..... not that sword art online was a harem ( and i fell in love with that anime within the first 2 minutes)
#91 to #84 - cptsweatpants (12/12/2013) [-]
Harem's are cheap. All they offer is shallow romance and lots of unnecessary fan service which is their main selling point and nipps know that damn well. What saved Zombie was that it was a comedy, so there wasn't any need to take it too seriously, but it still bothered me. Rather than a harem I prefer no romance at all. Good old one guy one girl is what I like to see.

SAO was very hyped and we expected a lot from it. But it didn't deliver, in fact it sucked balls. The first cour was bad enough, simple, linear storyline, everything was white or black, badass MC with OP skills always winning, pre-pubescent romance... It was like a 12yo wrote it. And then in the second cour they decided it still isn't enough and strapped massive boobs on everything and came up with the worst villain ever. It was weak, very weak I can quite easily compare it to Btoom! though it's still not as bad as Accel World. But I'm not the one they wanted to sell it to. It was sale whoring shonen and the sales sure went through the roof.
User avatar #96 to #91 - stricklandpropane (12/12/2013) [-]
I agree with everything except the part where you say that the harem in Kore wa Zombie Desu ka? was bad.
Sometimes Nippon has good taste. Sometimes.
User avatar #135 to #96 - cptsweatpants (12/12/2013) [-]
Then you should get to know one, otherwise your understanding of the other sex might be in serious danger.
User avatar #136 to #135 - stricklandpropane (12/12/2013) [-]
Getting to know a 14 year old girl could pose a problem considering my age but the girls I do know would probably watch it.
User avatar #137 to #136 - cptsweatpants (12/12/2013) [-]
Good for them. but it's still a seinen.
User avatar #138 to #137 - stricklandpropane (12/12/2013) [-]
Let's just agree that Love Lab was good regardless whether it was seinen or shoujo.
User avatar #139 to #138 - cptsweatpants (12/12/2013) [-]
There's no need to aggree on it. It was a seinen, that's a fact, shazam, ding ding, no discussion neccessary.
#98 to #96 - cptsweatpants (12/12/2013) [-]
Whatever floats your boat. Harems don't float mine. Iz all. I'm actually a sucker for good shoujo.

I think the last good Shoujo I've seen was Love Lab.
User avatar #106 to #101 - cptsweatpants (12/12/2013) [-]
Shoujo is a demographicaly determined genre that covers all anime aimed at girls between 12 and 17. It can be anything from blood thirsty ****** vampires to to a fujo harem. But as it is aimed at girls it is mainly romance, and when it doesn't happen to be ******** parade or a male harem it can sometimes actually be very very good. Examples are Kaichou wa maid-sama, Lovely Complex.

Love Lab is comedy, Slice of Life, Seinen. It can easily be placed into the unofficial sub-genre of SoL refered to as moe. Which is commonly explained as "Cute girl doing cute things" moe is in 99% of cases written as Seinen, meaning that it is aimed t men aged 18+. It's a healing kind of anime that lets you forget that you're 20, alone, and sitting here at 4 am when you have a test tommorow and before that a course you're almost failing, but you;re too weak to force your lazy unambitious ass to do anything about it. So instead you watch cute girls do cute things. People like me basically. You'd figure that if I know all that I'd do something with myself huh? Well that's just how much of a freaking retard I am.
User avatar #132 to #106 - stricklandpropane (12/12/2013) [-]
Kaichou wa Maid Sama lost my interest around episode 12 but I plan on picking it back up someday.
I didn't think Love Lab was seinen because it feels more like a Shoujo.
User avatar #134 to #132 - stricklandpropane (12/12/2013) [-]
Honestly yes, but then again I'm not a teenage girl so...
User avatar #133 to #132 - cptsweatpants (12/12/2013) [-]
Dude, does it honestly feel to you like something a 14yo girl would watch?
User avatar #92 to #91 - smokekusheveryday (12/12/2013) [-]
..... you are far too harsh of a critic
#95 to #92 - cptsweatpants (12/12/2013) [-]
Really? I actually thought I was being as objective as possible with that. I've seen a decent amount of other shows by now, so I look for things "Sunday anime watchers" don't notice or pass as normal. And those are who SAO aimed for and hit perfectly. In the circles of more experinced watchers we all rated it as average or worse.
User avatar #103 to #95 - smokekusheveryday (12/12/2013) [-]
I care little what the "serious" anime watchers would judge as good or bad that being said im always looking for something new and i try it and like it........ if i feel the urge to keep watching it then in my opinion it's decent
some anime i couldn't bear to watch such as Angel tales
King gamer
Comic party

Wow you sure have a lucky hand with picking your shows. Like I said try following Log Horizon for the next season and try Angel Beats, that one already finished and it's liked a lot in your power level.

Saw angel beat, cried alot
and read the description of log horizon and it looks promising as well but for some reason i didn't dig any of the HACK animes even thought it was about being in virtualy gaming world
not so much of having a luckily hand it's just more about browsing anime44's massive anime list and picking one's name that draws my attention also i've seen a bunch on FJ by asking for sauce
User avatar #110 to #108 - cptsweatpants (12/12/2013) [-]

I mean Log Horizon has the exact same setting and it's no god tier, but quality wise it completely wipes ass with SAO, and if you compare it to other sworplay anime, such as Rurouni Kenshin for example, it's not even a competition.
User avatar #100 to #97 - smokekusheveryday (12/12/2013) [-]
I liked SAO because it was related to gaming and virtual reality which happens to be one of my many fantasies.. i don't usually like swordplay animes

Watch Log Horizon. It started airing this season and like I said, so far it wipes ass with SAO.
