Y'know, I actually liked Jar Jar.

He may have been dumb, and more than a little kooky, but he had good intentions and his heart was in the right place.
He wasn't a desirable warrior, perhaps, with his clumsy, innocent nature. But he was gentle and kind, and stood for the innocent things in the galaxy that need the strong to protect them.

I don't think an image of a crashed AT-AT would be ideal for promoting the strength of the Empire's military

We're talking about Vader here , the strongest Force user that ever lived. He sure as hell can do it alone.

"Strongest Force user that ever lived" C'Baoth stopped a missile dead in the air for minutes walked over it and cut the payload out of it. There is no other pure feat of raw force power than that in the star wars universe. #extendeduniversescrub
User avatar #87 to #78 - commandershit (02/20/2014) [-]
I said strongest not best
Vader lacks the training others had and in general he didn't give much of a **** for lessons
#105 to #87 - bobbysnobby (02/20/2014) [-]
C'baoth was cloned and his clone had identical abilities able to mind control about 40thousand empire clones and micromanage them in their operations on numerous dreadnaught destroyers.

Loop hole dodged.

Expanded Universe is not canon, both from the mouth of Boy George himself and logically speaking since the new movies will very likely ruin any of the continuity in the EU.

In my opinion, it's rightfully non-canon thanks to all the Mary Sues running about. Half the books are "My Jedi is stronger than yours!"
#132 to #124 - bobbysnobby (02/20/2014) [-]
Also seeing as Lucas worked extensively on the EU I require a first degree citation on him saying it was not cannon.
#161 to #132 - endospore ONLINE (02/20/2014) [-]

He pretty specifically states that the EU is a 'parallel universe' to the movies he made. He even says that he's never even read any of the books, so that should give you a pretty good feel for what his opinion is.

And it doesn't really matter what you consider canon. What matters is what the creator considers canon. Of course, this is all fiction so it doesn't really matter as long as you enjoy it. It just gets annoying when people jump in with five different ways their favorite Mary Sue could beat up the actual characters.
User avatar #196 to #161 - mulciber (02/20/2014) [-]

Disney plans on redoing what is and isn't canon (mostly by saying 90% of EU is ******** ).
#130 to #124 - bobbysnobby (02/20/2014) [-]
I say that the prequels aren't cannon because they dont logically sync up with the first 3 movies. Where does that leave us? George Lucas is hardly a good enough writer to trump talents like Timmothy Zahn and seeing as Zahn was licensed by Lucas films its about as cannon as it comes. Removing all but the first 3 films leaves us with Vader being one of the weakest his total force use is summed up by blocking a laser shot from Solo and coking a few guys.

I don't know about strongest force user ever. I mean don't get me wrong, D. Viddy was a certified badass (even after being baconified on Mustafar) . But when you take into account earlier sith lords like Darth Bane, Darth Revan, Darth Sion, and a bunch others, he kinda fails in comparison.

There are still stronger users of the force. I mean take Bane. Held off a parasitical invasion of his body by orbalisks (creatures who feed off the force and cant be cut with lightsabers) just through pure force strength and used them to not fuel his dark side powers even further, made them into badass lightsaber proof armor. All while they constantly ate away ate his at body and still fed off his force power.

mate you can argue all you want , it's established canon by mr lucas himself that Vader as "the chosen one" is the strongest force user that will ever exist , even if he sucked in comparison to others. He destroyed the entire Jedi order by himself , a thing other Sith only dreamed about.
I'm talking about Anakin here , aka Vader before he lost half his body.
Cuz the more bodyparts you lose , the less force sensitive you become
User avatar #102 to #97 - daix ONLINE (02/20/2014) [-]
Lucas did say that vader is the chosen one and the most powerful, but he was unable to live up to his power because of his emotions. he was "destined" to be the most powerful, but he never saw that point. it's basically wasted potential. Based on what could have been: yes he was the most powerful. based on actual actions: unfortunately, no. Also, Bane destroyed the entire sith order in one action, and he didn't even do it himself. he manipulated the order into destroying itself and then rebuilt it. it can be said that anakin did that with his "killing" and betraying of the emperor (the emperor did not die from vader dropping him down that shaft) but only bane has completely done it.

Not after he was cooked.
After he was cooked, be became a bit weak, being about 1/2 robotic after Mustafar.

Having a robotic body has a role to play in your strength in the Force.
User avatar #15 to #13 - commandershit (02/19/2014) [-]
true , but there is always his son - who is canonically , just as strong as Vader , just less trained
User avatar #134 to #15 - jamesisnotreal (02/20/2014) [-]
actually luke, once he trains himself up truly becomes the chosen one, one of the most powerful jedi that has ever existed, due to the fact that he uses both the light and dark side of the force when need be, and never lets himself become overwhelmed by either of them i.e. He is extremely nice, putting himself before others first, but is not above using anger to help him nor is he afraid of emotions such as love like the jedi were, allowing himself to have a wife and children etc.
User avatar #225 to #134 - beerterror (02/20/2014) [-]
It was said simply that Luke realises the potential Anakin had - which equals roughly 2xEmperor Palpatine from RotS. And that's pretty impressive. Also Judging from feats from the following books, such as punking a Force Entity(sic!) and a very, very powerful Sith Lord in a kind of the Astral Plane.

Considering they were looked after by Dooku in the beginning, based on the galaxies most bad ass bounty hunter, and answer to Chancellor Palpatine from the very beginning of their service- Were they EVER not tainted by the Sith?

All the good things they did were just following orders so that the Jedi would be lulled into a false sense of security BY the Sith.
